Glad my order was cancelled tbh. Luckily my credit card was out of date so it couldn't be sent. Aftre the disappointment of AVP I kinda thought this might suck too. Just remake the saturn version

didnt expect Gearbox to mess this up so badly, but then again, other than Borderlands what have they done of note.

You constantly get hammered by the Marines, and the aliens attacks are quite weak and it takes some effort to get 1 marine down. Opposing Force and Blue Shift are fantastic games and worthy of the Half-Life name.

Apart from those, Duke was mediocre as was the Brother in Arms series.

Might be sending my copy back when it arrives tomorrow, will read the reset of the reviews once the embargo is lifted but it's not looking great.

Presumably because he pre-ordered it from a retailer, who aims to get it to you for release date. They likely shipped copies out Saturday so that with 1st class mail, they likely arrive today, but for sure tomorrow.

Don't you ever get games one day early? Cool spot in Doncaster had this early, and most games get delivered one day early anyway.

But isn't this game a Steamworks game? Thought you be able to install it and have it ready, but it be locked till the 12th.

I just been watching the 14 minutes of MP gameplay for Escape mode, It's just like Left 4 Dead. However bad the graphics and whatever bugs there might be, I think this is going to be so awesome.

I would prefer to buy it 2game for £19.99 but if I want to play tomorrow, I be buying it from Greenmangaming for £26.99! Small price to pay for the fun!

Just played this for about 30 mins, after just playing Dead Space 3 for the past 3 days this looks very dated. I like the tracking of the Aliens etc and although in places it may feel tense it's not all that scary even when an alien jumps at you.

I'm not far enough into it to review it properly however I can see that it will score pretty low for sure. I'm an aliens fan though and would buy this anyway, and because I didn't have high expectations anyway I'm sure I'll enjoy it in some wierd way.

I've not played online yet so can't comment on that, maybe it will be fun.

If your not an aliens fan then I'd hold off buying it as you'll probably be disappointed.

OK slight update, if you haven't bought it don't.

The single player game is going to be very short and probably annoying, especially the AI. The aliens seem random and the AI guy I've been with on the first level is an idiot, he either runs in front of you or does random things.. they give quests like find dog tags etc so there I was just collecting my legendary weapon only to find that my AI partner who was supposed to be following me had decided to go off and open a door miles away which required me to protect him.

Equally it is not very detailed as the graphics engine is very dated and trying to distinguish between what is scenery and what can be interacted with/collected is pretty hard.

It's probably going to be some easy trophies but other than that..

I've been playing it all night, I reckon most scores are going to be around the 5/10. For some strange reason I haven't got bored, it's almost like playing an FPS from the 90's, once you get past the initial shock and put your retro head on it's OK, lol

I did say ealier it was just like a game like Doom 3.
