After a Tablet...

For watching TV and stuff I'd take a 16:10 (Nexus 7) screen over a 4:3 screen everytime (assuming they're otherwise of comparable quality).

I have no idea about SkyGo etc working on Android though, as I download all my TV and only stream SC2 tournaments (via flash in browser ;)).

Yea I've been doing some research/reviews.

Made my decision it's going to be a nexus 7. For the price that I'm going to pay nothing can't really beat it.

Hopefully SkyGo will work on it. Worse comes to worse I'll just use my iPhone 5 lol

For the use you mention, get the Nexus 7. There are plenty of games for Android, I have a 3 year old and he uses my Android tablets more than my iPad. It's much better for kids because you can get a kid friendly launcher rather than the wall of icons on iOS where they can get lost/break stuff/do things they shouldn't. With the kid's launchers you can restrict them to the puzzles/activities/games you want. We use one called 'Zoodles'. There is an iOS version but it's nothing like as good - you can pretty much only watch videos on it and doesn't have the parent lock/launcher. It's basically a pointless kids video player on iOS because that's all is allowed by Apple.

For Sky Go the Nexus 7 has a better aspect ratio and resolution. A friend in Sky says the 4.2.2 update won't be long - they are much better at device support now. In the meantime just use 4.2.1 - it's absolutely no problem at all.

The Nexus 7 is also cheaper, it's a no brainer for the use case you've supplied.

Ohhh that's a very good point, what launcher are you using? Since my younger cousins nicks my tablet when they're around :p.
