It was really quite dry tbh, had a few boggy bits that just weren't passable but overall very rideable :)

I live in Grenoside so normally just ride up to Greno wood, do a loop round to the top up past Peaty's and go across the chase and over crags, it's a good run.

Looking for a bit of advice.

Ive just sent my Lyrik solo air's (RC2DH) to tftuned for a service and they've told me they've found a scratch in the air chamber and the best thing for me to do would convert them to coil @£180 rather than £300+ to replace the air chamber which includes a new crown.

Im a little unsure on what to do ,Whether to go coil or stick with air.The only problem with the fork is they have about 10mm drop in travel which is the reason i sent them off for a service.

Ive only ever ridden air never a coil fork. Im 10st 5lb all geard up so im not sure if coil is worth it for me especially with the added weight.

The guy i spoke to tells me id have one of the best forks on the market converted to coil

So opinions guys - Is a coil fork better than an Air fork?

My coil lyriks were super plush and had a number of different spring weights four I think and so were easy to set them to your weight, the only downside was they are heavy.

You can't beat coil for performance but you pay for it with weight.

Another option is a cartridge from Avalanche, a lot of people do this conversion with Lyriks, I don't know anything about it, it's worth looking into though.

Thinking about getting some

661 Filter Shoes and some Fox Launch Knee pads.

Can I get anything better for my money?

They seem reasonable for the price.

Went for a ride today, still too much snow on the trails and the crust on top was too thin to support a riders weight :(

Probably cycled and walked about the same distance.

on the scout for a new helmet - like the look of this - just not the price!!

Got my trabec race for about £95 from amazon inc delivery 3 months or so back

Just got a wheel built by Superstar. Wheel turned up two days after ordering it which is good I guess, shame the build is awful. There's literally no tension to the spokes, the thing would just fall to bits if ridden on anything other than tarmac!
I'm getting another wheel built up by Just Riding Along, I let them have a look at the Superstar wheel whilst I was there and they just laughed at it....

I debated an ss build but got hope hoops pro2 with flow ex for £275, ss aint that cheap anymore + their builds are questionable.

Plus Hoops came with 2 pair spokes n nips per wheel + hope stickers, qr + 20mm end caps on the front which is a nice touch.

I'm new to all this! ;) Shall have a look.

Not sure, yet to try them on. Beleive they come in two sizes, I'd guess large.

They don't make the straits anymore, I was looking for some but few if any places have stock. They were replaced with the rage if I remember rightly but they get mixed reviews. That's why I've started looking at the evo, more expensive but hardly a bad word about them.

Watch the sizes too (there are way more than 2 sizes), read the size chart and reviews on CRC as 661 sizes are a bit all over the show.

i got some fox knee pads, they're alright, could maybe do with some softer material over thje knee. They feel like the kind of knee pads i'd have if i was a builder or sommet.
