So would these http://www.evanscycles.com/products/louis-garneau/ventilator-road-shoe-ec034776 work OK with these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=28263 ?

I know it probably an obvious question but would just like to be 100% sure.

Anyone recommend better shoes for around the £60 price which would work with the said pedals ?

yes they should,, underneath have more holes than the usuals SPD SL cleats, the description does say they are compatible with LOOK pedals

I dont think so from what i can tell, one guy asked if they would work on SPD SL pedals and 2 answers where yes, so no they wont work with those pedals

Yes they ll work fine, road shoes have the shimano spd sl/look keo tri angle fitting and some cheaper shoes like those linked also have the 2 slots for shimano mtb pedals.

Doing multiple laps of your commute would be incredibly dull surely!

Part of the enjoyment of cycling for me is getting out of the city.

it would be but then i could find out where i hit my "wall" so i know where i can push some extra when planning my route next time :) now i have 0 idea where i would 'crack'

even thought i did a few 30-40 mile rides on my bmx! and that is a lot harder than roadie.

I dont live in a big city anymore but when i lived in glasgow i found that getting out of the city split up the ride.
I had to ride 8-9 miles to get out of the city, so i had already done 9 miles when i "started" my ride. When you get back into the city on the way home, it feels like your almost home, but still have 9 miles to go. It splits the ride up nicely and you dont notice the extra 18 miles as much.

Saying that, i much prefer living in a smaller city where i can go any direction out of the city in less than 2 miles.

it would be ~10 miles before i get anywhere near ;D which is cool and im not a big fan of big cities for cycling tbh

arrrrg

cant remeber how to transfer a .GPX file to my Garmin edge 800

tried copying the course into the garmin/courses folder where they are all located, but it doesent work

Just saw this off bikeradar
You drop any new TCX file into the NewFiles (make sure its "NewFiles" and not just "New") folder and make sure you "eject" the Garmin from Windows safely from the system tray icon.
Go to courses on the Garmin and select the course and pick "Do Course".
When you plug it back in in future the TCX file in the NewFiles folder has disappeared and it now resides in the Courses folder and is a .FIT file.

I prefer shimano SPD-SL pedals to Look KeOs. My first road bike had those same pedals (KeO easy) and i now use SPD-SL on all my road bikes. Both setups did the same job, i couldnt tell any difference when actually cycling but the shimano cleats are much easier to walk in. They have little rubber caps on each edge of the cleat which gives much better grip. Shimano pedals are also much cheaper. These would save you £10 and also have tension adjusters (but they do weigh more).

Well chuffed with myself. 151 miles covered today!! Had a quick pub stop halfway round, other than that is was pretty much non stop.

At my rents at the moment so can't upload my data yet, but Garmin had a moving average of 18.1 which I'm super chuffed with too.

Now I'm waiting to murder an Indian (a curry that is!)

Anyone else doing the Strava 100 this weekend?

Impressive! How hilly was your route? Pancake or Pyrenees?

Rode 170km today in 7hr 12mins, got home and looked at my Garmin and then data was there. Just got it off the bike to upload and it's lost my ****ing ride. :( I rode with a friend who recorded it on his iPhone and uploaded it, is there anyway to borrow his data and trim the beginning and end so I can at least record it on my log?
