How would you moderate your own GD threads?

The mod/don/admin team here are fantastic apart from maccy who is world class, I mean just a real step up from even the best of the best.

They do a fantastic job, reading and moderating the churn of utter garbage we deem fit to post in this internet space. Sometimes they get it wrong (maccy never does this) but they do a much better job than you or I could do.

Or do they?

Do you think that you could moderate your own threads better than those who have to moderate every single one? Would you allow critique and criticism? Would you let things play out even if they were getting borderline regarding the overall site rules or would you nip it in the bud and close it down? How would you remain impartial or would you not even pretend to be so?

What do you think?

Personally i don't think I could be bothered, plus imagine the mess If someone like Jason2 had control over a thread. For some it would work but for the most part it would be a one way ticket to rat **** land.

I would ban people asking for threads to be closed. Like I want red cards for asking for a yellow card in football.

You are not a mod and aspiring to be one is even more pathetic and embarrassing than the rest of your life.

OK that was quite harsh but you get my drift.

No, I would be too lax to moderate. I've done it in the past and I always let too much slide.

Same here, and no posts with "+1" or people quoting then changing words and saying "corrected". Every post should add to the discussion or people should be temp banned.

I'd only allow debate via the medium of LOLcat memes

All mention of colour would be banned, including red, orange, pink and beige.

I'd only allow threads where the initial post was clearly ignorant, involved alien abduction, or heavily biased towards Marxism and My Little Pony.
