*** League of Legends ***

tonight is troll night it seems..
im seriously thinking about quitting, absolutely fed up with the **** RIOT does little to sort out.

The best suggestion is find a group and play with them. We have setup a mechanism to make this easier via ocuk/mumble. Then again taking a breather never hurts

Yep, we played some custom games tonight, some aram's and an ultimate bravery was around 8 of us, we needed more and asked in OCUK channel but no one wanted in.

So if you see them, they see you then? That the problem?

No, what happens is, when the skill activates on an enemy, you gain vision of them, they hear a howl and get the icon above there head showing that they've been targeted by it, so best thing is to do, is turn it on when your actually beginning the gank as opposed to having it active ages away, allowing them time to react.

Cheers, i follow now.

Is soraka a good support ?

My freind keeps playing her but she seems so crap, only good thing she has is a heal isn't it ?

Pleas correct me if i'm wrong !

Also what are good and easy to play support characters ?

It depends on his play style to an extent. I generally play sustain supports which Soraka is one, her strength is her insane heal which can make killing your ad very difficult. However it has a long cool down and it is a single heal as opposed to sona or taric who heal themselves when used.

Her silence/ability to give mana can be pretty useful as well. I quite like playing her but late game always feels a bit weak and if your team is on the back foot its very hard for her to add anything.

My favourite is Sona, easy champ to play, and lots of useful buffs for the team with her stun being useful. However she is insanely weak early game and against a good team you can find it difficult to look after the ad let alone yourself.

Taric is strong at the mo., good stun, ability to reduce armour, armour buff. On the sustain side he is probably the best one as he can also be very difficult to kill so opposing team having a leona/thresh or blitz isn't so painful. Those are non sustain supports they can give you more lane control. Really what works best for him but get him to try different supports don't stick with just Soraka.

Also make sure he is doing a support build not a personal one eg getting items such as aegis that benefit the team. I like banner but only because the lane push can turn the tide on a team not paying attention. But no magic resist with it.

Thanks Tals,

does anybody know any good general jungle guides ? Jungling is the only thing i have never done thus far, and wanna have a go but not sure how to go about clearing the jungle to be honest and don't really have a clue what the role entails.

I will probably jungle with fiddlesticks i think !

I really enjoy jungling, im not the best but im good.

First, lets list some jungle champions.

Nocturne, xin zhao, jarvan4, VI, Maokai, olaf, hecarim, shaco and so on.

Lets take nocturne for example, in my eyes he's a very good jungler.

Q good if it lands, leaves a trail behind the enemy as they move which if you stand on increases your move speed.
W is a shield which blocks any spell, for example you come in for a gank on lux in mid lane, she trys to bind you, pop your shield which blocks it and then you gain attack speed
E is a fear after a second or two not 100% sure the exact time, pretty self explanatory why its good.
R now his ultimate is fantastic has an extremely good gap closer, removing vision of the map for the enemys, also good if the enemy your ganking uses flash, use R to catch them.

His passive is great, every 10 seconds your next auto attack deals 120% AD and cleaves infront of you giving a % of damage dealt converted to health.

So jungle, the main aim of jungle is to assist the lanes in gaining kills, also usefull for killing dragon and baron as smite deals a lot of damage to minions, also wriggles lantern deals a lot of damage to minions.

A typical jungle route is, Start wolves, get a smiteless on blue, move to wraiths, kill red buff using smite, kill golems when smite is up again as they deal a lot of damage early on, repeat this while trying to gank the enemy.

If theres any other questions you have just let me know.

Pretty much this, only thing I would change is to do red straight after blue if you get a smiteless leash on blue.

Also MadMan if I was you I'd practice jungling on someone other than fiddle, he's a good jungler but he isn't the most forgiving and easiest to use, maybe someone like Xin.

Jungling requires a lot of investment and a different way of thinking about the game. If you are genuinely interested in the role, message me and I'll happily help you. Otherwise concentrate on what you enjoy.

Thanks i'll take a look at some guides first and maybe have a pop at it, then decide if i enjoy it or not. thanks for the offer though !

and thanks i'll look at them tonight !

Another note, if you're just starting to play jungle, if you play bad people will pick you up on it like crazy, people love to blame the jungler even if they lose a lane by themself, ignore the constant critisism and work on things you could do better.

It really is a rewarding role to play and one if not the most important as you have the ability to make an influence on a lane and be the decider if they win or not.

Just remember

If you lose the game, it's the junglers fault. If someone dies in a 1v1 it's the junglers fault, if they accidentally bought an AP item instead of the AD item they needed that is also the junglers fault.

Out of interest, what is the different way of thinking? (If easier, can discuss on mumbles sometime soon?)

Your expected to keep track of timers on all the buff spawns + dragon + Baron.
Your also expected to anticipate the enemy jungler's position and position yourself close enough to be able to assist.
Your expected to steal the enemies buff when possible.
Your expected to gank but not steal kills from the mid or ADC
Your responsible for warding your or the enemies jungle (depending on how well your doing)
etc

Also don't forget to give your AP carry blue buff when possible, obviously don't give it away if your gonna lose all your mana in a couple of combos.

Try to give your ADC the red buff also.
