Supplements the debate/discussion thread

mrthingyx, this looks interesting.

Possibly why we are getting nice recovery?

Cool article. :)

Possibly - the human body is an absolute bar steward for studying because of hte variables inbolved. However, there is no good body of evidence (that I've found, and not necessarily experience) of glutamine supplementation helping with this in healthy adults, simply because it is quite readily available to the body in well-nourished people.

Now that could be because the test/hypothesised criteria were not along the lines of what we're looking at here (depth of sleep and DOMS recovery), and I'm not going to discount that.

I suppose the way to isolate whether the ornithine is doing something as opposed to the AKG would be to consume AAKG, which does not elicit the same IGF/GH spike as ornithine... this IGF/GH spike is why I started out on OAKG rather than AAKG, but not having tried AAKG I can't say whether or not it does the same thing... :(

Steedie: I train five days a week, so pretty much every day. :(

hmmm interesting article, thoughts from it, would it be better to take PWO or before bed, or both?! This is based on the fact that i AM train, obvisouly evening trainers get the benefit of not having the whole day to wait before going to bed haha.

Would it not make sense to dose every day? (funds allowing)

OT:

True Whey Review
A friend recommended True Whey and he was bang on. I have been using this for a month and can already see and feel a difference in my muscle firmness and my strength has increased. It mixes easily with no lumpy bits to deal with, strawberry delight tastes just like a milk shake!
/facepalm. Dem firms.

Damn MP's deals, purchased a load of supplements i wouldn't usually buy, but they were cheap.

Seeing as I was half a kilo away from triple digits the other day I have decided that a cut is now really necessary.
I've been probably hovering around 2200-2500 calories (bear in mind that I'm a 99.5kg fattie with the top 4 abz showin yo, that trains 5 times a week and walks for about an hour every day) but despite sleeping 8 hours a night I'm forever sore, without energy and hate getting up in the morning.

I have 2kgs of this OAKG lying around - should I start using it to aid recovery or best save it for less malnourished days?

Also - any fat burnerz? placebo or not - I want to shed 3kg of fat which should bring all little 6 abs out and I hate cutting with a passion so want to do this in 2-3 weeks if possible.

Anything that has magic apetite suppressant qualities? :D

Have a play with things. I'm going to try 7g pre workout and 7g before bed.

CBL your way to leaness.

Try 17g OAKG before bed.

Fuark you been on the sauce? :D

Yes sir, Jaegerbombz every day for a whole weekend - it would have been rude not to at 10 euros a bottle!
Before that I had some friends visiting and staying over for a week and since I didn't want to be a sad count that abandoned them for the gym and dieting it meant a week of no training and 5000 calories a day.

These two combined guaranteed me 4-5kgs - i know most of it was water as the abz still show, but them gunz have grown as well - probably because I was on a calorie deficit before my body was like a sponge ready to make all kinds of gains.

LiE, CBL scares me a bit - I train in the evenings and I'm energy-less right now, I'd be a zombie with no carbz before 8pm.

total rubbish! you dont not eat, you re-align your body to work well off high amounts of good fats in the low carb portion of the day, and you get to take in a pre-workout shake, and even intra workout as well to keep you going.

I train in the mornings after a 12-13 hour fast on just coffee, no problems

Some might say that if you have problems with energy levels then there are MORE gains to be had with CBL.

That "some" may well just be me :D

To add more fuel to the OAKG investigation, me and Dom have been supplementing glutamine for years (Dom more consistently than me). We have noticed some reasonable bro science recovery gains from it.

Was concerned that MP's customer service had dropped going by a few posts here recently. Yesterdays order placed at 12:45 missed the next day delivery promised, despite having paid the £3.95 for it. Short e-mail to see if the website had not updated turns out that it had infact not been shipped.

However a £5 voucher as a gesture of goodwill and my shipping refunded (still being shipped next day) more than makes up for it :)

Have you had similar results with OAKG before bed?
Hard to say at this stage.

Even though I'm only claiming "Science Level: Bro" on the glutamine, it's an impression gained over years of taking it. Compared to <5 days for pre bed OAKG, I'm not so confident. At this point I can't say either way, but I'll try again tonight. I've done it some of last week and all this week and recovery has been fine, which is all the data I have :p

I did "like" using it PreWO though.

is that the coffee with KTC coconut oil?
I did have a go in the bast at carb backloading - although I only did the 10 day no carb bit which indeed dropped me quite a bit of fat.

What I didn't like however - was the "low carb limp".

I assume further discussion would be more adequate on the fb group?
