Hi guys, new to this thread and no, sorry, I haven't read through all 666 pages :(

Android App related question, is it worth going for premium on the Strava app? I'm far from a pro, or even all that consistent. I bought a bike after Xmas and I'm trying it instead of going to the gym. At the moment I only do a 5 mile ride as many days as it's warm enough for me to bare.

I am very competitive though, so I enjoy the rankings by segments. I'm looking at getting a heart rate monitor so I have more stats to nerd over :)

Did/does anyone else find the Endomondo app would stop tracking a lot? If the screen goes off, if the app gets triggered again? (I have an NFC tag on my bike mount to open the app, sometimes it will trigger while riding) Strava seems much steadier. It's a shame as I like Endomondo letting me ride against my previous bests.

40 miles this morning. Weather was beautiful - still chilly but bright. We got out to some places I've not been before.

Randomly bumped into minty on the way back - recognised him from his sportive photos, so shouted to him and then rode a bit with him until we went our separate ways. Think I surprised him a bit shouting over to him as he sailed past, haha!

Good grief, my GPS went sideways about halfway through that. Apparently I cycled through the reservoir. I thought it was closer to 40 than the 44 that Strava is showing. I might lop 4 miles off the end to save accusations of cheating...

Either way, I've broken 500 miles for the year, which I'm happy with.

Got another Chinese carbon frame today, its extremely nice.

Only 838grams.
All internal cable routing.
Di2 compatible.

The fork it came with is excellent quality too almost seems a waste to use it all on my commuter but then it was cheap so why not?

Turbos, is something like the Tacx T-1820 Magnetic Trainer worth trying at £70 or do you need to spend more, its one of those purchases that i like to think i would use but until you get one....

Quick 40k this morning before i had to start work.

Not too bad. Pace was about where i want to be in my prep for Etape Caledonia, and got a PR on the climb up the Rig.

Aiming for 60k tomorrow morning with a mate, then off on monday so planning my first metric ton of the year then.

Loving this dry spell at the moment! Long may it continue. :)

That is really nice.

Is it same/similar to the Ribble R872?
Assume its from ebay (which seller if so) or from elsewhere?
Whats the score with the BB, i'd be thinking of Di2 or Campag Athena/Chorus...would it go straight in or would it need an adapter? (i'm clueless on BB's!!).

Looks like a lovely day for a ride. Shame I can't get out for one this weekend. My loctite, curing fluid and new bearings are here do I'm going to do battle with my bottom bracket today and hopefully I'll be creak free for the foreseeable.

We had a guy I've not met before with us today. Other folk knew him, so I don't know where he's been hiding the last 8 months that I've been going out with them. Anyway. He was riding a vintage steel bike that he'd refurbished himself, having bought the frame on ebay and driven to London to collect it. It was a 531 frame with lugs, rather than welds, like rogan's fancy frame. It had downtube friction shifters and the groupset was all old 8 speed Campagnolo, which he'd struggled with, just by virtue of trying to find such old compatible parts in good nick. He couldn't get a compact upfront, though he had managed to get to 52/39 from the 52/42 it came with, and it only went to 26 at the back, so it's a good job we didn't do much in the way of serious hills! He was pretty handy on it, so fair play to him.
