Nice one!

Cheers :D

I made it over Belmont, which I've not done before. Not the full climb from the reservoir, but from where you come out from the Angelzarke road. I found that plaque I'd mentioned - it's on the tree on the corner at the top of the climb. It was Wednesday he did the climb on.

Heh, going over Belmont my legs were wearing a bit thin, but on the road, left over from some triathlon or something, someone had written "COME ON PETE!" in yellow paint. So I kept going and I made it :D

Well my order turned up today. I must say I'm impressed by the quality of the Assos shorts.

Thats right, they have their own wash bag.

Max Speed 65.4mi/h

got some gps lag there.. :D

Haha, yeah. My GPS logger doesn't cope well when it can't get a great signal, so it goes a bit nuts at times. On my ride the other day I rode through the reservoir, which I must confess I don't recall. Still, it's preferable to using my iPhone which tends to run out of battery after about 30 miles, though Strava have improved the battery life of late, so it might be better.

My max speed was more like 36mph, according to my cycle computer. Damien - take note - you can get up to quite a good lick without too much effort on the undulations on the A675 from Belmont to the M65.

You heard back from the lads about this weekend yet? What time they all meeting?

I mentioned to Walt that you were asking after a lift. He says it's fine, but he's not sure of the start time of the ride, so he doesn't know when to say to be here! I'll chase him when I see him.

Nice one von, looks like a nice route.

Got my first sportive this Sunday, looking forward to it, scoped out the hills on Sunday, barely felt sick at all...

Not to hijack this discussion but I also have a drive-train problem. I changed the chain last week (maybe a link or two too short) and now I get a ticking sound from the rear derailleur every time a link passes through it. The chain is hitting the highlighted part shown (which gets louder when I shift to the largest chain ring):

Is there meant to be more curve in the chain than this?

Erm, those last two pictures make it look like your top jockey sprocket is missing.

If it is still there then it looks like a stiff link. Muchos lubrication of the offending link should solve it.

I CBA looking back through yesterday's posts. Chris, did you finish the Flat 100 yesterday? Well done mate if so. I saw your name on the attendance list e-mail last night.

:D

i wish it was a 100 :p

i did the 50 mile one yes

it was poorly organised though

i got there early signed up, and there was only 20 riders, so we all went into one group (which i felt was too large for an open road) plus the fact i knew it was going to be fast and it was, so i did it on my own as i couldnt keep up, when i got back to the carpark there was nobody there, so a bit disapointed

Oh and i wanted to do it in 3h30 and i did exactly that, 3h 27 :D and that was on my own!

not sure which email your reffering to, but im not on any list, theres a Chris Ford (which isnt me)

Got another Chinese carbon frame today, its extremely nice.

Only 838grams.
All internal cable routing.
Di2 compatible.

The fork it came with is excellent quality too almost seems a waste to use it all on my commuter but then it was cheap so why not?

How is the braking surface holding up on the carbon wheels Bigsy?

Hopefully have some nice shiny goodies waiting for me when I get home. Wheel building time :D

You have put the chain back on wrong, you need to feed it to the other side of the metal lug you are pointing at

This shows you the route your chain should take

Doh, top two images wouldn't load for me.

Yeah, now I can see it, this is bang on. Chain needs to be inside the metal lug.

Ahh, ok then, that makes sense. Thank you so much guys.
