UEFA Champions League/Europa League 5/6/7 March *** Spoilers ***

My favourite bit of the post match ITV was definitely when Chiles refereed to Celtic as an 'English team' :).

That or Keane being really angry.

Don't worry English football fans! Arsenal are still in Europe!

They're getting lubed up for the second leg. :p

Terry did knee Sanchez in the back though. Off the ball.

Yes that was fair enough.

Can't remember the Cahill red but the other 3 were all deserved so I'm not sure what you're trying to say with the link. It's a typical Daily Mail article.

Nothing, I just thought it was interesting there was a specific article on it before the game.

Anyone notice Roy Keanes huge chip on his shoulder ...lol at him!

He's still bitter about how his United career came to an end. Great player for us but an utter **** of a human (and no I probably wouldn't of said that when he was still playing for us)

I haven't seen all RM recent games, but according to some, this is not the first time RM have had the ref on their side in a sending off, which has then led to them winning.

Whatever the decision, I do strongly feel that RM were below par throughout most of the match. Utd looked stronger of two, and would have likely taken the win if not down to 10 men. The red card was a real game changer.

It's just incredibly unlucky for Nani that Arbeloa was closing him down like that in that moment. Zidane used to do that jumping studs up control of the ball constantly, almost every game. It is one of my enduring memories of him, and Henry used to do it a fair bit. The only way tonight's situation was any different was that there happened to be a player there as Nani went up to control it.

It's at an awkward height for Nani, he couldn't really head it in that situation, and I suppose he could have let it come down further, but I don't blame him for trying to control that, I'm sure there are plenty of players who would have done the same thing. Also, referees cause problems with their inconsistency. In the WC final between Holland and Spain, Nigel de Jong did a worse version of what Nani did tonight and Howard Webb didn't even book him. Tonight, Nani does something not as bad and gets sent off. Refs cause themselves problems by not consistently applying the laws of the game.

I'm glad Fergie hasn't come out and spoken to the press, he's obviously too annoyed to be able to talk to them and I'm sure he'd only get himself in trouble. Also, has anyone heard that Bale was spotted at the game? I'm guessing that was to see his future employers (Real) play?!

Yeah, he's just a **** of a human being tbh.

Can I ask a question of the united fans:

If this was Liverpool what would your honest reaction be?

That Liverpool were hard done by. I even felt they (Liverpool) were hard done by when they went out of the Europa League and was going to start a thread about whether or not the away goal rule should be wiped out but as I don't have an alternative way of deciding two legged ties I refrained from starting said thread.
