**** Official Titan owners thread. ****

^^ Agreed. My point in a nutshell.

He's apologised though for causing offence to anyone so that's OK for me personally but the problem with a forum is you can't exactly undo the damage already done. But that's OcUKs problem not mine or yours :D.

Indeed the permanence of responses on a public forums and social media is always an issue for companies. It's very hard to do both with 1 account I've been warned for being too involved in the odd thread :). I think in future I will create two accounts completely separate from each-other, but for now I just avoid most contrived convos and GD as much as possible and try to post in "staff mode" more than casually.

I have just realised, that cool looking SLI bridge nvidia are bringing out in April for 3 way sli may work just as well on a 2 card setup. I have just been using my cards with the middle one turned off but with the 3 way bridge still in place, everything works the same as a normal 2 way setup.

I know it's ott Kap, but with Nvidia, can you run 2 way and use the third for dedicated PhysX?

Yes but normally you let NCP autoselect which one to use for PhysX.

Below is a pic of this on my 690s

You sound like you don't know whether to stick or twist. ;)

there's 2 ways to do this;
you can remove the SLI bridge from the extra card, so if you had 3 cards and normally run them in 3 way (or if you have 2 high powered cards and a 3rd spare lower powered card) you just run a 2-way SLI bridge between the 2 cards you want in SLI, and no bridge to the 3rd card... then when you turn on SLI the 3rd card isn't added to the array and it will be selectable as the physx card

the other way is to setup 3 way SLI as normal and then select the 3rd card in the array as the physx card - the advantage of doing it this way is that with 3 high powered cards (like Titan's) the physx will only use what it needs, and the spare capacity on the 3rd card will still be used assist in driving FPS... when you leave it on Auto is usually selects the last card in the array for this reason anyway

There is no way in hell that I would ever spend £900 on a single graphics card!! Are you all crazy??

I think we just have to assume that those that buy a Titan are like those buying other high end parts 3960x etc. Just want the best, price is annoying but overall irrelevant.

At least that's how I looked at it, I wanted the best single GPU. I can see me selling in the future if AMD offer something similar for less, right now there is no alternative. So it is what it is..

£900 isn't really that much if you earn say a modest salary of > £30,000 a year, without any dependents and a wife who works as well.

Especially if you've been financially prudent over a period of time... it means you're likely to have substantial savings. It's all relative.

Comments like that above are just a bit.... daft.... really.

I'd like to hear you sing that with your South African tones. :p

I actually speak with an English accent, I used to have a South African accent but lost it as I grew up.

My ex and myself were at a karaoke once and she decided to sing "I will always love you by whitney houston" with her high pitched afrikaans accent it almost blew up the amps.:D

People spend hundreds on Underpants with another man's name on them or T-shirts Implying you are a "Bench".

My brother has just spent over a grand on wheels for his car. To him that was cheap to me that is another Titan. It's all relative.

Now that bit is impressive that the rest of the gpu's power is not 'wasted' as such.

Thanks andy.:)

What i find a shame is that all these cards, especially the Titan, are crying out for faster per-clock CPU performance on the 6 core chips and we are not really going to see that until towards the end of 2013.

We won't see these cards fully maxxed in SLI/CFX outside of synthetics until they (AMD, Intel) provide that.

If Crysis 3 and the AMD console design wins are anything to go by, 4 Core chips are just not going to cut it from here on in.

PS4 runs the cores at I believe 1.6ghz so although there is 8 they run quite slow. I would have thought a decent quad running at over 4ghz would offer as much if not more performance but I could be wrong.

So what's you verdict on the Titans then Kaap ? , You have had a couple of days to play :D

The Titans remind me of the GTX 690s, they are powerful but do it in a subtle way. Before the Titans I had a pair of HD 7970s in the machine, they were hot noisy and not as smooth by comparison.
