***The Official Sony Xperia Z Thread ***

Had a play with the Z in various phone shops today, definitely gonna go for it once I find a half-decent deal

vodafone do it free for 12 months - 47p/m unlmtd minutes/texts and 1gb of data.. with ~50ish quidco/topcashback you can have it for ~500 through the year.. not a bad deal

Are there any sub rules to a Voda 1gb p/m, like carry-on looking at pages when your gig is up but no downloading or restricted speeds type of stuff or is it "your gig is up now you pay by the mb , mwah mwah mwaaar"

i'm a student, i'd rather not pay ~50quid a month, definitely dont need unlimited minutes either :P

Don't know but I'll have to do more research as they also have HTC one with the same contract bar the 129 one of fee which should be gone by the time the s4 is here which is when I'll buy a new phone...

The reason i like it is because i upgrade every year so it's easier for me to get what i want.

Plus over 2 years of paying £50 p/m and selling 2 one year old flagships it works out cheaper than getting and selling one flagship off 3 on the one plan over 2 years, as long as the data is flexible, if data is a strict 1 gb it's a non runner for me.

T-Mob (from mobilephonesdirect) is £25.50 per month, free phone, unlimited data and unlimited texts. 24 month contract though.

I am aware of this deal, just fruitlessly trying to get vodafone to match it atm to save the hassle of moving networks :P

Xperia Z up against Nokia’s camera kings – the Pureview 808, N8 and Lumia 920

Tomato sauce

It annoys me when they do this, this not being the best example, leaving out other main contenders (e.g. GS3). Happens in the benchmarks all the time.

They probably left it on default settings, this is another thing that annoys me with some reviews.

As of now this is the phone I want.. Just waiting for the SGS4 announcement so I can make my decision.

the rumored specs are pretty much what we should be expecting really :)

so quad/octa core cpu
2gb ram
4.99"
1080p display
13mpx camera

galaxy won't have much over xperia Z so if you want it get it now really or wait for s4 and then the prices might go down a little bit..

I see the Z being an 8/10 and the GS4 a 9/10. The Z looking significantly more premium, water/dust proof. The GS4 being a better performer all round, probably a better screen and more extensive software & support.

and htc one should be on the list... i like a lot about htc but i want an SD slot and im not 100% sure about its camera.. :) and the looks/feel in hands!

on the other hand i liked the way Z feels in hand, i love the way it looks and i love the fact that its water proof and 5" display is PERFECT for me.. but im a bit let down by the camera, feel(quality wise) and screen

so im waiting for S4 announcement before i make my move.. Z is sooo tempting right now :(

True true.. but the official announcement is in a few days. I can wait :)

On another note, the sgs4 will have better/wider range of accessories available. hmmm..

Oh yeah forgot about that :o. Remember seeing some sample pictures last week and was not impressed - thought the Ultrapixel tech would provide excellent IQ? HTC really can't catch a break at the moment.

Oh jolly good, mobilephonesdirect have got their stock and are dispatching my black XZ today. I still can't get over free handset at £26 a month with unlimited data and texts.

That is a cracking deal :)
