SimCity V (2013) - screens/artwork and information

What the actual F? looooooooooooooooooooooooool

this is surely a joke?

Lol nope my friend.

EA has well and truly shafted this one.

I was there, probably like most of you, for the Diablo 3 **** up.

I thought to myself, companies will learn from this and it will never be this bad again.

My god, how I was wrong.

Edit:: new page. Time for a funny picture to lighten the mood.

I am actually tempted to buy this now. I've not gone anywhere near EA/Origin DRM titles so far, but this sounds like too much fun to be left out of. :D

I was late to the party and missed out on Diablo 3's chaotic launch, so I really feel the need to be part of this 'great collective moment' in gaming.

Fake image is fake but still awesome :D

Waited 15 minutes to join a server, got the main menu screen and lost connection to the servers :(

Mine also says pre-loaded and downloaded very quickly - however, checking the program folder theres only 280mb instead of the 12Gb it said it was going to download.

my sim city folder is onlu 2.19gb and I've been playing it earlier today.

weirdly it was over 3gb before todays update

I received and played my collectors edition of Diablo 3 on the day of release and over the next two weeks without problem. I think I was only unable to play once on a weekend. Fine other then that :).

Yes, but at midnight when it launched, the servers were pretty much totally dead for 2-3 hours.

I assume that's what he's talking about. It kept happening in the evening for the next few days as well. If you didn't experience it you were very lucky.

Okay, so it's not a joke...now what was the reason behind it? wow...

I know for me, using fast forward functions in games like this is a MUST.

The theory is that Cheeta speed is causing the servers to buckle due to all the simulation being calculated via the cloud and servers.

A new theory is thats why the cities are also tiny, due to them being server side.

Don't be fooled by the one server that says "available" because it's really not as proof in this next picture:

Games been out for almost 4 days now in the USA, haven't even been able to play for a SINGLE SECOND.

Surely this is basically remote gaming then or at least two thirds there. The obvious next step would be to just give people 'leases' to the particular game just have it play over the net if AO DRM is EA's future. Giving EA access to everything from consoles/iPads/iPhone/pc from one platform and all those micro transactions....

Any word on them increasing capacity at all? Copy should arrive in the post tomorrow.

Capacity of the cities?

I read somewhere that they said it was impractical due to the processing power they needed, basically, having a city with interactive / independent people or something like that limits the size of the city v play ability.
