Same here with some other settings as well...^You have to select and apply 4xSSAA ingame, not on the options before the game otherwise they wont apply (wouldn't for me anyway)
tressfx is broken.
Its collision with the arms and shoulders in non existent... It just vanishes into her.
So they broke it all because Nvidia uses moaned that they couldn't turn it on..
WAY TO GO
Cheers, didn't realise it needed setting within the game as well. Yeah performance is really bad with TressFX on and the hair is all blurry, switched it to normal and it's running great with 4xSSAA though.
Just fired it up to check and your right.
I can't believe they have gimped out but more so broke TressFX in the process, so that it would work on Nvidia cards without comparable compute performance.
The hair was running fine(albeit with a small gap between where the hair would lie on the shoulders), now it's turned into a juttery mess and hardly moves in comparison while now falling through her back.
Would it have been that hard to put a slider in the options on how much an effect could be applied.
The only saving grace is that I could roll back to the beta build, if anyone wants to revert it back:
Right click on the game in your library, click "Properties", then select the "Betas" tab, and select the "build716.5" beta.
None of the changes so far to TressFX are related to nVidia issues, they were in response to it moving un-naturally and floating visibly above the surface it was touching.
Thank god for that, I have the hair back and also no more freezing when salvaging.
they broke the game in that stupid patch, all so that Nvidia Fan boys could get 10% better performance

We are aware of various performance issues on Nvidia hardware and are working with them on getting a solution out to you soon. Also, note that our target video card spec for TressFX was the AMD Radeon HD 78/7900 series of cards, which we kind of screwed up in not announcing sooner, because now we are seeing a lot of people use it on hardware that will just not be able to keep up.
We are in the process of trying to get nVidia issues resolved as well. You should be able to run it on a 680 once everything is fixed. Apologies for the delay. Hope you can still enjoy the game.
Yes, the fix for this issue is going through QA and should be pushed out soon. Thank you for your continued patience, and I'm glad your still enjoying the experience.
this is a showcase for 3D mate, simply jawdropping when you start taking control of Lara at the beginning.
Great isn't it. The hair looks messed up for me in 3D but no probs with normal. Is it the same for you or does it look good?
Jojoba and coconut greg, I can smell it when it flicks out the screen and brushes my cheek.![]()
[fanboi-mode]Don't worry, as soon as Nvidia sort their drivers - they will trounce the red team.[/fanboi-mode]
