Tomb Raider patch improves Nvidia performance and TressFX hair.

Well one 7970 for me running at standard ghz clocks and basically only fxaa is nicely playable with all settings else up high. Too many drops into 15fps during cutscenes tho at 2560x1600. Time for card number 2 and maybe 3.

Sounds like Nvidia fanboyism spouting from your lips?

:D

Ha, no fanboyism here, I really hate fanboyism :p

I'm planning an all AMD build next year, 12 core Steamroller (If it delivers) and either an 8970 or 8990 (If AMD have value / performance still). I'll sell the Titan to fund it (;

Right now though the Titan is king, there is nothing that comes close. It wipes it's arse with every game I played (Including Tomb Raider).. It laughs at BF3 while throwing out over 100fps @ 1440P maxed out :p

The 8990 mentioned in another thread looks very promising. That could tempt me back to AMD but i'll go either way depending on performance etc..

My op was just pointing out that anyone listing Lara Croft's hair as a reason not to buy an Nvidia card deserves to be shot, I mean it's so lame. Driver fixes come quick for games and let's not forget AMD have had to do there fair share of driver fixes aswell...

I have noticed better performance with my 2 x 680s in SLi after the recent updates... I have TressFX on as well :)

Tonester: can you match my 7950 CF clocks (1100/1500) and run the benchmark on max settings?

No longer have two cards bud, when it comes back from RMA i will though!
It was a VTX card, so no idea how long the RMA takes - got sent to manufacturer the other day.

Can match a single card, but not much point considering it's been done a lot.

I dont know about you guys but despite it being a shame for nvidia consumers that they're bein shafted with performance issues for this game. Its GREAT to see the shoe on the other foot when it comes to nvidia having to play catch up. Its nice now days that not every game on earth has nvidia splashed all over it. And now th tables have turned nvidia have dropped the soap and look the fool.

Nvidia and AMD competition is fantastic right now And i hope it remains so. If only AMD could bring a winner out the bag in the CPU market. It would be nice to have competition with the CPUs like we have with our GPUs just now.

You're blindingly Nvidia biased, you should know you take it too far without being told.
;)

Actually you're quite wrong, my sig was made to annoy the people who kept saying that to me, it all came about because I said I liked PhysX, you know god forbid you like something that others don't on here. If you read some of the other threads you'd see I'll be moving to AMD once the 8 series is released.

I didn't pay any attention to your signature, nor did I refer to it.
The posts I've seen from you aren't exactly what I'd called unbiased.

I believe I've seen you saying you're moving to the 8XXX, but didn't pay much attention to it. They're an unknown at the moment, making a statement about something that isn't quantifiable at the moment isn't exactly something I'd pay attention to.

There are few on here who have a completely unbiased opinion. My 680 is the first Nvidia card I've owned since before the 4890 I bought on release. At times I do get a little defensive but it's mainly against those who try to argue things that are personal preference instead of fact (like benchmarks and scores).

That's thrown me :p

680's my first Nvidia GPU, but I didn't have it long, lack of 3D compatibility ironically enough.

Thank god for that, I have the hair back and also no more freezing when salvaging.

I was getting game crashes while salvaging. What did you turn off to fix it?

Definitely not an unstable overclock - got way more voltage than is required for my moderate overclock.
