I think when the word Titan gets mentioned, with some people all logic goes out the window.
All a Titan is, is a bit faster than a GTX 680 or HD 7970 and if anything it also comes with way more vram than is sensible. For 1440p I would never consider using a single Titan on its own, some of the latest games will bring it to its knees if run maxed out.
A GTX 690 will give far better performance under the above conditions. Or has been pointed out there are cheaper options like 2 x HD 7950s which would perform even better.
Titans are really nice cards but a single Titan will leave the owner disappointed in no time running 1440p
