Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Did they change something and not tell us? Hit detection seems waaay off and not just for the host anymore. I wasn't hitting anything, then saw the final killcam and the other guy had his first 4 shots (on target) hit thin air.

Unrelated note ... called in a warthog on HC ... huge mistake!

Thanks Danny, any idea how many times you need to get kicked to earn a ban from playing the game on live? I am so bad at it this is a realistic possibility!! :-(

I'm not actually sure how the probation system works to be honest! I think I've only been kicked once or twice for team killing. If you press start during a hardcore match you can check the map for friendlies positions to avoid team killing - cant help it if your team are idiots though. :)

It's all in your head :p

BTW Nothing changed, connection is still inconsistence.

I haven't played this game for about a week now. Been playing Gears 3 and MW3.
I actually like this game but i've come to realise that my problem with it is the maps. They are just awful!

Any tips on attachments or perks for making the KSG shotgun a bit more reliable, i swear i keep missing even when they are right infront of me, i currently use long barrel, lazer sight and quick draw.

Ever since my connection got fixed I pull host nearly every game and it's ruining the game for me. If it keeps up I won't be playing it for much longer.

Looks like the start of bad things to come from Activision.

Activision adds in-game purchases called Micro Items to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Activision has added in-game purchases, which it calls Micro Items, to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 13th March players will notice what Activision describes as "optional" Micro Items within the shooter. Activision community manager Dan Amrich said they were "either personal customisations or nice little luxuries that I've seen players request".

He insisted none of the Micro Items affect gameplay, rather they are "small, specific ways to enhance your online experience".

So, what, exactly, are they?

Personalisation Packs are like "dress-up for your favourite weapon". Each pack contains a unique weapon camo, three targeting reticles and a Calling Card. A set costs 160 Microsoft Points (the Micro Items launch first on Xbox 360, as is Call of Duty tradition, but will come to other platforms later). An example of one of these packs is the Bacon Personalisation Pack, which wraps your weapon in, yes, bacon.

Another example of a Micro Item is the Extra Slots Pack. This adds 10 more Create-a-Class slots and "significantly" expands your media storage, allowing you to archive 20 more emblems, 32 more films and 40 more screenshots. The pack costs 160 Microsoft Points.

And there's the Flags of the World Calling Card Packs, which include national flag-themed Calling Cards from countries around the world. These packs are divided by region and cost 80 Microsoft Points each.

Also included under the Micro Items banner is the Nuketown 2025 map, previously a bonus map awarded to those who pre-ordered and this week available for free, and Nuketown Zombies, previously available as part of the Hardened or Care Package editions of the game, now available as a standalone level for 400 Microsoft Points.

Micro-transactions have come under fire in recent weeks, with EA games in particular singled out for criticism.

Perhaps in anticipation of a bad reaction from customers, Amrich moved to pour cold water on fears about Call of Duty's Micro Items impact on gameplay.

"At the end of the day, all of these items are completely optional, and were created for players who've asked for more customization options," he said. "If that's not you, that's fine; everybody gets Nuketown 2025 for free, so definitely take advantage of that"

I would drop the laser sight, I never found the KSG to be any use when hip firing. Keep the quick draw though, long barrel is optional. With the KSG you can almost QS it like a sniper in that you can pull the trigger before being fully ADS and hit your target accurately.

Ever since my connection got fixed I pull host nearly every game and it's ruining the game for me. If it keeps up I won't be playing it for much longer.

Nooooo you can't stop playing, firstly my emblems will just look stupid but more importantly I don't want to pull host :(

Edit: Microtransactions?! Really, what utter utter BS. Lets make a game that is broken and sell it and instead of patching it to fix problems let just patch it to add Microtransactions to make even more money. So everything that used to be included is going to be paid for, I dread to think what the next COD is going to look like. Though bacon camo sounds good but no way am I going to pay for extra camo's.

And there are the micro transactions!!!!!!!

Can't say I'm surprised. Might go for the 10 extra CaC slots though, saves ever prestiging again.

They really need to sort out the shotguns. I got killed several times from I'd say far away by a shotgun with long barrel on it. It was a joke. I don't mind been killed. It doesn't bother me but when stuff like that happens well I just leave and play something else. The range is just too far in my opinion for that attachment.

i have both blops2 and bf3 and nither of them seem to make sense online although bf3 is the more tactical game and better in my opinion.
The only reason i still have the xbox is because of dark souls and dragons dogma, both of which i want to finish.

I dont mind micro transactions but once you hit prestige 5/have 10 create a class slots there's practically no use for prestige tokens. Treyarch could have let you unlock more CaC slots, theatre slots or anything but instead they choose this route so you have to pay. At least in MW3 you could use tokens for double xp. Treyarch took a step backwards which is silly really when they could have used initiative. 100 msp is pretty tempting though even if 20 CaCs is overkill.

Oh and bacon cammo sounds awful if its actually bacon rashers plastered on a gun, if its like a browny colour then it *might* not be so bad...

On another note did they introduce colours for the reticle targets? I looked at the different targets on the red dot sight and the different shapes are now individually coloured i.e some are red, some blue, some yellow... Perhaps I just never noticed.. I don't see the point in having a diamond or a hand that obscures your target.. let alone a bacon rasher!

Edit* They nerfed the SMR with autofire - I've not used it yet but I've been killed by it 10 times total - doesnt seem like a popular enough gun to nerf?!

:P
