I had one for my bed which is absolutely amazing, and it seems to not work anymore for some reason even though the light still turns on.

Anyway, I am searching for a new one, I need an electric blanket which fits a double bed.

Any recommendations? I have hesitated to start this thread as it seems silly asking for recommendations on a blanket. So here it is! :)

We've got two branded electric blankets at my house, can't remember the brand, and they are good...

I cheaped out and got the mrs an ebay one, no difference! The only difference is that the branded has heat settings 1,2,3 and the ebay 1,2 (2 being the same as the branded 3)

I don't want to cheap out and get fired or catch fire etc. :p

I used to have one but then I remembered I wasn't 90, manned up and got a quilt :p

They are awesome!

The main reason we have them is that they're cheaper than using the heating! I've got a loft conversion without any heating and using an electric heater all night is eyewateringly expensive... The electric blanket keeps you lovely and warm during the nights :)

I bought my folks one about two years ago. It's a Homefront Premium Double Fleece Cover with Dual Control and Individual Heating for Body and Feet.

Remember you are not supposed to sleep with them on. You are only meant to heat the bed 10-30mins then turn off and get in a warm bed.

Your product may be different

A good price, a pity it is out of stock ._.

My blanket also stopped working so I'm looking for one too, filling hot water bottles gets old really fast.

PSA for those with Electric Blankets - never, ever, ever, use them on babies or young kids who are prone to wetting themselves. There was a programme on the telly the other week about this poor girl who, as a baby, was placed on top of an electric blanket and she peed herself (as babies do!) and it caused horrific electrical burns and scars for life when it seeped through into the electric wiring.

Just a heads-up for anyone with young kids/babies who like to use these blankets!

Carry on.

You need to either man up or find yourself a lady (or man if thats your thing) to warm your bed for you! I would have though that, as somoene who enjoys forum god and all round good guy status, you would have women/men calmbering over themselves to get into your bed and thus warm it for you.

Edit: Wait a damn minute!!! Do my eyes decieve me or is this a sensible and legible post from Tony Williams?!

There are many sellers on ebay selling the dual control Slumberland electric blankets.

We have had one for years and we would certainly not be without one. The dual control function is great and ideal for a wimp like me, my wife is known to turn her side off at night.!

I bought mine from Argos (expensive) but the next time I will use the bay. Just type in "dual control electric blanket" and drool :D
