George is very good at making sounds that some people like, but when it comes to real substance, i.e. facts and figures to support claims, he is lacking. It's very easy to stand and shout sentiments, but he is hardly ever challenged factually, as he is just too darn loud, and attempts to belittle opponents instead of debate with them.

Clearly he knows little about the Argentine military. This is the military who let a mothballed type 42 destroyer slowly decay and sink in harbour, because they can't get the money together to repair it. They have little capability, and would never dream of using any military action, as it would completely ruin any sort of credibility they are trying to create.

He has two appeals, one he is vocal (most politicians are too afraid to say anything controversial), he is correct about Israel.

His downsides are that he's a egomaniacal fool, with a clear obbession with the celebrity image it provides, a self-contradictory contrarian with a lack of facts to back up his arguments.

I think overall he most likely does more harm than good to the causes he supports, as he is so vehemently hated by so many - people instantly tune out to whatever valid points he may raise (albeit by accident).

But that belief is discriminatory and exhibits prejudice - he is attributing perceived characteristics of a group onto an individual in a punitive fashion. I thought some moral champion like yourself would have recognised this?

You may want to examine the participant because he was actually arguing for a compromise solution well away from Israeli policy.

I suggest you check your privilege because your discriminatory apologist statements won't hold with me! Stand and bang grrrrrrr /flex

His rant about it last year summed it up that sovereignty is baed on locality and nothing more, which is about as stupid as it gets really.

If it was in the indigenous people of South America asking for it back I'd be inclined to at least take it seriously - maybe they assume nobody knows the history.

yup. i remember reading history over the years and Argentina didn't want it anyway. and as you say, its not like Argentina is filled with native south americans anyway.

It is just down and out racism, pure and simple. Swap Israeli for "black" and would you still be defending this man?
This is a democratically elected MP that flat out refuses to use diplomacy, as evidenced by that very quote. He is an embarrassment.

If the Falkland islands had no indeginous population, and that island was colonised by the British and pretty much the entire population has voted that they want to stay under British control, i don't see why Argentina should be allowed to have any claim over it?

Yes it is nearer to Argentina than us (about 350 miles?), but London is only 214 miles from France and you don't see the French claiming it should be theirs!
