Hi

great start to the day today i was sat at a junction waiting to pull out and the car behind me hit me from behind.(she was driving to fast) There was no witness's to the cash. car needs new bumper, rear glass

I've since reported it to my insurance company and gave her reg details ect
(she did say if i went through my insurance company she would contest it?)

I've got a rental car provided by my insurance company ect

what happens now??

ive got no claims protected, legal aid, free car hire

If she went into the back of you then she has nothing to contest. Simply wait till your insurance company gets the money off hers for the repair etc.

Best case, her insurance company shrugs her protests off and admits fault. Worst case she fabricates up a witness and proceeds to be a pita. Your insurance company is dealing with it, so I'd just wait and see what happens for now.

If she's hit you from behind whilst you were stationary she hasn't got a leg to stand on. She was probably just trying to scare you into not going through insurance as she was well aware of that fact.

Really? I would be half tempted to bitch slap her if she went into the back of me and then said that to me.

I hope you have took some photos of the area and of both the cars?

Not a lot you can do now, but it's fairly cut and dried so I wouldn't worry too much. She sounds like a complete idiot.

The proof is the damage to the front of her car and the rear of yours. Pretty simple.

What about the guy on here who had the exact same thing happen to him then the other driver made out to their insurance that he had reversed into them?

Some slimy *******'s about.

And what way did the insurance companies decide? Seems illogical to me, why would anyone reverse when waiting at a junction? If that happened and my insurance company went with the other party to me I'd get a solicitor and take it further.

Think it went 50/50, can't remember. It was quite a recent thread, so someone with searching skills will find it.

I thought it went in his favour as they claimed him rolled back but he drives a auto so couldn't? Or am I thinking of a different thread?

Depending on how fast she was going when she actually hit you it might be kinda hard for her to claim you reversed into her if the the damage is severe.

I slowly bumped into back of somebody about to pull onto a roundabout a few weeks ago. 0 Damage except a bit of plastic popped loose on her bumper. Still claimed and cost me 3 years no claims. Nothing I could do as it was entirely my fault

Just hope she was insured if she said something bizarre like that. That's why I swear by dash cams now as it is proof even if hit from behind that the car that is rear ended is not at fault.
