Punctures sound like a nightmare but using sealant stuff like Tufo tyre sealant seems a good option and simply put some in the tyre via the valve and hit some CO2 into it.

Yep, sealant works well, i used normal car tyre sealant when i got a small puncture with my tubs (probably better to use tufo stuff tho).
You need to consider the weight impact of filling your tyres with sealant though, you might find that it takes away the problems of punctures but negates the benefits of weight saving.

Not pleasant conditions to be faffing about at the side of the road with a puncture! That's good going with the amount of debris on London's roads.

True , lucky me I was in the ground floor cycle /car park we have at work so I quickly switched to a new tube and of I went with dirty palms lol. Need a new tyre by Tuesday that cut is too large for it to be safe :-(

I use the zefal sealant and with the amount of punctures I've had recently its been a god send, on a dark wet winter morning its sometimes impossible to find the debris but the tube seems to hold up even if I can't find it to remove, plus its literally a 10 second repair job. The canister is quite light so easy to have in my bag at all times plus I've done 4 wheels and I think there's room for at least one more.

I also find that it gets an acceptable amount of pressure in without anything additional, enough to get me to where I needs be. I then just usually change the tube when home, there cheap enough.

Grudas: That short climb at the palace is brutal, I still haven't made it to the top thanks to an issue with my gears.

haha, yeah it does look crazy! hey something thats close and tough-ish, I guess it is good to exercise on :)

i would give it a shot but with the weather like this i wont have enough grip to climb it lol.

Vonhelmet: It'll be a breeze for the climbers on here, but for me it's pretty brutal. The best time on Strava is currently 20s which gives you an idea just how short it is.

whats up with your gears again? was quite tired the time we had a chat and i can't remember if you mentioned anything about them. :o

Didn't really notice the problem until I started to do some climbing this week. The gears change up on their own and I simply don't have enough strength to keep going in the higher gear. The ratchet on the gear lever is pretty worn which doesn't help. The bike needs a complete rebuild which I'll do over the summer.

Well, that was pretty wretched. My neighbour is ill, so we'd arranged for the rest of us to meet at a different guy's house. So I duly got up earlier and headed down there. And no one was there. No sign of anyone. House all dark. No answer on his mobile. I waited ten minutes then sacked it off. So, by then, I was 9 miles from anywhere that was any use to me. So, I did another 30odd miles in the cold and rain on my own. Rubbish.

Edit: It turns out we missed each other by a minute or so. They didn't know to wait for me because the text I sent when I left my house at 7:20 didn't get to them until 8:20 when they were already long gone. Cheers mobile phone!

Went and got myself a turbo last night. Looking yo use trainnerroad, but don't have the usb stick yet, but are there any workouts I can do until this turns up?

Aaargh, so sick of this weather! Was also set for doing 100km tomorrow morning, but the blizzard is in full force again here in Hamilton now.

No way i can sit through 4hrs on the turbo tomorrow to try and make up the training time. :(

Is it not meant to be spring already?!!
