Having just become the proud owner of a shiny new OC Games system I started to look and see what was out there that I could buy to put my new hardware to the test and that's when the problem started !! call me old fashioned but I do like to be able to pick up what I want and then pay for it and not the other way round !!

ASDA - No longer selling PC games ....
Morrison's - No longer selling PC games
Game all but gone on the high street so no local store any more

Downloading in some cases cost more than a retail box ( WTF )

So where are you getting your games from ?

I do use steam but not everything is on there.

Steam sales or the popular sites that you can find if you commonly visit the pc gaming daily deals thread.

Steam, Origin, whoever has what I want and has the best deal. Mail order if I want a 'hard' copy game. Haven't even bothered to look at what high street shops have since the first Sniper Ghost Warrior game!

Steam.
For Origin games its generally cheaper to buy elsewhere.

+1

I wait for deals and get the games I want, months after release. It works out quite well.

Games I play are patched, usually come with DLC included and drivers are mature.

Although keep an eye on the Rainforest as they have prices similar to Steam.

Steam/GMG/Game.co.uk

I will try and get a hard copy of any game I buy (unless it's under 6gb), so if it means paying a couple quid extra to get from GAME then I will.

Steam, GOG, Greenman, some other digital ones I forget name of.

Shopto if it's a game I'm not bothered about and it's massively cheaper than digital.

Postal service is a little unreliable where I live and so I can sometimes be waiting an extra 2-3 days for deliveries. This is why I mostly get digital as there's no waiting around for it to arrive.

Steam, Origin, GOG, Get Games, GamersGate, Amazon US and UK, GreenMan, gamefly, game and shopto are my normal places. Shopto is the best retail place to buy anywhere atm, they even have a picture of your parcel. Every pre-order I get one-two days early and every normal order I get next working day without fail.
