Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16 - 17th March 2013]

First home win against Palace in 25 years!...atmosphere was absolutely incredible today. Palace were awful, especially considering they would have gone 2nd today if they had won! Well worth completely losing my voice and getting absolutely soaked anyway:D...if only we had got a few more points in our last 3 games:(. Forest away next is absolutely massive!

Ulloa is top class, exactly what we have needed all season, I just wish we had got him earlier. Lua-Lua was easily the best player on the pitch.

Not too much trouble. A few arrests and a bit of aggro after the game, but all of the fans were split up(Palace fans herded out after the game, not allowed to stay:D) so it was easily avoidable. One bad bit during the match when Kuzszack(who is turning in to one of my favourite human beings) started going mental in front of the Palace fans after we scored and got a coin or two for his trouble. It didn't escalate though.

One last thing. Zaha was beyond woeful- step-over, step-over, fall-over, complain. Man Utd have been mugged. Lua-Lua showed him how a winger played today.
 
Brighton need to get promoted otherwise Poyet will come to a bigger club in the summer, I.e Leeds ;)

I don't want him mind :(

Zaha was in Byram's back pocket in both games this season. Very over rated, will need to step it up big style next season.
 
Watched the incident 5 times now on the tv. He hasn't lunged in to tackle, it's a swing at the ball, he's missed it and followed through.

Still a red and horrific for the young lad, but it wasn't malicious, he's just fluffed his kick. It happens, very unfortunate. Put the nooses away.

I am afraid that might be true, but we are a very ambitious club, and he will be given basically what he wants....he gets a hell of a lot of freedom. We have to get promoted next year at least though, not least because it is what we have been planning financially for.

2 of our next 3 games are Fores away and Leicester at home...Massive!


PS. Leeds have no chance of getting him. I think Di Canio is available though:p
 
on performances like that, we don't deserve 4th! dempsey, manu and defoe are appauling.

i understand we are lethargic and missing lennon and sandro but we were so so bad. i thought our defeat to wigan was bad but that may have topped it!

we have a rest period and need to come back sharper.

He'd deffo jump at the Leeds job.

You're going to lose some players in the summer I imagine.

EDIT: I agree with shipinabottle that it wasn't malicious - in fairness, it's pretty rare to see a genuinely malicious tackle of that severity in football - but it's still horrific and deserved a red.

I'm not advocating his actions, it was a stupid thing to do, but it's typical McManaman gets off scott free and Perch gets booked.

With all due respect that's complete bull and you need to watch it at least one more time to see what really happened.

I agree he is, at first, swinging for the ball but its clear as day when he realises he is not reaching it he changes his shape and goes studs up at the man. It's clear as day.

Whilst you can be we know someone's mind it looks intentional.

Also the red sent off Carver? Got the wrong man you ******* muppet. Compounding idiocy with more is hardly clever but sadly typical.

I doubt it. To be perfectly honest, not many of them are of a premiership quality...to clarify, they are not the type of players that a prem team would look at to improve their squad. I think a lot would do well in the Prem IF they went up with Brighton though.

I very much doubt we will hold on to Bridcutt for another season though. He is easily good enough for higher levels.

Kuzszack is better than the Championship as well. And as much as I love CMS and Buckley, I wouldn't be too upset to get some money for them tbh
