Help - GTX Titan Faulty??

O wow, What does that virus do Gregster?

Makes someone money I guess doing that bitcoining thingy (I know nowt about it). I have seen it mentioned a few times recently and how it is causing people no end of problems.

Not 100% if true but it has been mentioned with Java updates recently.

Edit:

iehighuti.exe

That is the virus and not sure on the other 2. Not a bad shout reinstalling Windows and a SSD with a fast internet will make it quicker :)

Just read up on it. Wow its naughty but also Genius!

Most of the time it will simply use the GPU of an idle PC to mine for bit coins and send them to the Virus developer.. Genius idea but naughty haha

Makes no odds what anti-virus you have installed, give the virus permission (click ok/install/run) and it is in. With a harmless update (you assume) from Java, I wouldn't expect a virus but that is where this is coming from.

That's what I use but I never had it installed. Had very little on my system that's why I'm so confused I had this virus :-/

You should have installed it. That's the first thing I do after a windows install.

Hey greg nod32 wouldn't let me install it if it had a virus end of. That's how good it is.

Maybe bud. I have not had a virus for years, so I was talking old school. I use MSE and find it runs quietly in the background. I would rather you are right and I am wrong anyways :)

Would be nice to know for definite if eset would detect it.

I just spent £80 the other day on my new license with them (3 years 3 machines upgrade discount)

I just use Windows defender which is built into windows 8. I don't even know its running as it uses no resources whatsoever and have yet to get one virus/spyware/malware problem. I even tried Kaspersky/Panda online scanners after a few months to make sure that it (windows defender) was doing its job as it is that unobtrusive its like you have nothing running at all.

Good lads!!

I believe Windows Defender is identical to Microsoft Security Essentials except that its the Windows 8 version.

Windows SE is quite good, very basic though but works well if your not careless and click links for hot singles in "your town name".

Think that bitcoin virus was definitely the problem, I didn't even have java installed though so I really don't know how I got it.

Titan definitely seems fine now, just under 5000 on Firestrike extreme but my driver isn't approved?? That would have got me in the top half of the top 100
