Four cards for the price of one?

Actually just send me your whole pc plox.

The whole lot probably cost more than 2 Titans matt the last I took count, but you'd be better of with gregs or Kaps if you want to play.:D

It's a moot point though Tommy.

Some people want the fastest they can get and if money is no object, Titan is the fastest. You can't really compare a quad 7950 set up with a single Titan though. As Kaap says, it's a different market really.

Some want the best money can buy, as I said I'm(and the majority are) wanting BBFB, so spend accordingly be it 6's or 79's or Titan all through the board.

As one of my old bosses who had never left England in his life said to me just before I went on holiday to South Africa

"Bring us back a stick of rock please":D

I can't do a stick of rock, but I can bring you back a rock next time I goto my second home that is Italy.:D

Tommy in "Price of the Titan" shocker. A whole thread started on it as well...

And why not, it's very valid, 2X7950>Titan@1080p at half the price shocker.:D

Interesting, i never realised that, are you sure?

Yes.:D

I think its fair game to compare 7950 xfire to a titan. More performance than a titan, £400 cheaper and a load of games to sell as well which would recoup even more money. If the titan wasn't so expensive then it probably wouldn't be fair, but when you're paying the cost of 3x7970's for a titan it has to be exceptional in my opinion to avoid such comparisons in the first place or criticism on its price.

That's the whole point of the thread matt, but criticism comes your way as per for daring to mention the price of Titan, despite myself not criticising it anywhere since post release.:o

The Titan is a smashing card, I would own one if they released it @ £500 odd lol But for the money Its a simple option of 3 AMD cards

You can pay me to do some if you like.

Couple hundred should cover it. That'll be my beer money when I go to Lithuania next month. :)

You can compare them as they cost about the same money. Some people want the fastest solution they can get for there money and titan is not it in a lot of cases.

If people don't like you posting your opinion on titan and its pricing outside of the titan thread they need to man up and grow a pair tommy. Expressing opinion is definitely not a rule break here lad, so have at it. ;)

Why would anyone want one when you can get better performance for half the price. The Titan is way ahead of it's time, kinda like the Dreamcast was.

Its the frame latency advantage that a single titan has over CF and SLI that interests me. Yes you can get higher fps from a multi GPU setup, but gameplay wont always be as smooth or stable.

yes slight microstutter in some games is unbearable this is also a option maybe for not having crossfire sli over a silly priced top end card :D

Multi GPU vs single GPU. Different markets. Money isn't the source of comparison.

Realistically the people spending money on a Titan aren't interested in lower spec 3-4 way cards because it doesn't leave any further room for improvement.

It depends whether it's constructive or not. If it isn't it's just pointless which is what most of the moaning is. Tommy himself was guilty of this and he has already admitted as much.

(Edit: and apologised so I'm not re-opening it)

It's the usual response in defence, I can understand that if it doesn't get personal and remains civil then it's cool.

The latancy advantage will always be in favour of the Titan in any regards(barring individual game driver problems for Titan), but it's a two way street with faster traffic going down my side of the road in rush hour.:D

Tommy was very guilty and gave his reasons why but nobody mentions the reasons though, during(a very dark day) an admittedly over the top pedantic rant over Titan before it got released(never since I may add), and my hands were raised with public apology made, but it's usually yourself and now greg that cast it up when you don't like what I write.

It's a valid point but it's for the slant of character it implies to those that never witnessed.:(

This is different, it's constructive in the fact it points out that 2 X 7950's can whip a Titan for peanuts in comparison in my rig at my res on my titles.

A year from now us Titan owners will either be sitting pretty or adding another titan for orgasmic gaming glory while you will be looking around for an upgrade.

Or you will be selling it for £300 on the members market when a 8970 costing £400 beats it and comes with latest and best free games. :D :p

Well 2 7950s doesn't leave most people any room to upgrade further as most people don't have X79 systems. Also the scaling from 2 cards upwards is hardly anything to shout from the rooftops about unless you use triple screens or something equally demanding.

Tommy, I already said in my edit that I didn't want to re-open that discussion. It's nothing to do with not liking what you're saying and that does cheapen the discussion to say that when I made no hint of "not liking" what you've said. You've even quoted it! :). The reason for pointing it out was to illustrate to Matt the kind of unconstructive moaning that can get people's backs up and it isn't just a case of manning up. It was hardly just me either. You only have to look how diligently Rilot was moderating the Titan threads and dealing with price whinging that there would have been a fair few RTMs about that very subject.... it just got out of hand and was becoming quite bitter. It's all good now though.

Once of these days im gonna open a can of whoop ass of the whole xfire micro stutter debate.

I have to say... having gone back to crossfire after downsizing from triple screens, things have improved considerably even to the naked eye with regards to 'smoothness'. I'd say that my 7950s now feel as smooth as my 680s did, which if you remember from the point of my comparison, was an issue I raised at the time.

I don't think I'll ever understand why people get their knickers in a twist over someone's opinion or criticism of PC hardware. Post what you like, it's just a thing. You can't hurt a GPU's feelings!

If you don't like it, get over yourself and read something else. Not exactly rocket science.

It's not about reopening that discussion, that was the point of the comment in regards, my Titan rant is only pointed out when in differing opinions-to paint a picture on my character like you did yesterday for those reading, which is about manning up and not be childlike in the action of casting it up from time to time.

You done it yesterday and now today, the only other direct mentioning of it is from greg-which I can only account for disagreement from discussions on other threads, but the end result is character slanting in order to make the person look bad in general portrayed by the perpetrator in a childlike mannerism-playground stuff tbph.

:)

I don't think he can help it Tommy. He's probably not even aware he's doing it. Love him or loath him, that's Rusty.

I wonder how 4 7970's stack up against Andybirds 3 Titans at his res of over 7k x 1440 I believe. Going from my results at 5760x1080, you will not be able to because of the lack of VRAM. Talking about Crysis 3 here btw and possibly Hitman/Tomb Raider...

All these small things need to be considered.
