Do you get free games with xbox live gold ??

I really dislike the amount of advertising/promotion on the Xbox dashboard. Yes, there's only one 'ADVERTISEMENT' but let's not be naive, virtually every other tile is also trying to get you to buy a game, DLC, movie, or something else. There's a fine line between that sort of thing being useful/informative, and it just being a desperate attempt to wring more money out of the customer. If you've paid for the console, paid for the games and paid for Xbox Live, why are you then subjected to more revenue-generating adverts? The PS3 approach is better; keep the ads/product promotion to the Store (except for that stupid Singstar icon).

That's the point though, you're paying for online play on a service that doesn't even provide dedicated servers. The least they could do is remove the adverts, considering you get precious little else for your money each month. Give the free users the adverts.

As for your Sony remarks, you sound a bit fanboy-ish really.
 
PS3 approach is rubbish IMO, I rarely find myself going to the PS store while on 360 I can easily see new content and things I might be interested in without needing to load the store then hunt around for it.

360 has dedicated servers also. It's up to the publisher really.

My PS3 goes straight to the "what's new" screen when I turn it on :confused:
 
I wonder if the PS4 will carry that stupid warning too, or if they'll have found something else ridiculous to warn people about.

Xbox live party chat is excellent though. Much better than Playstations chat system. As already said you can get it much cheaper if buy a code online. Look at cheapxboxlivecodes.com

Don't touch cheapxboxlivecodes with a bargepole. They've taken payment off me, haven't supplied the goods in four days and have ignored four emails I've sent to them.

It's a shame, I've used them before and recommended them. Never again.
 
I've used the jasper1675 site to buy XBL codes a few times, has always been reliable for me although the last couple of times i renewed i found a cheaper offer that was running at the time
