You thoughts on my new motor BMW 320d Msport

The tyre thing on these has always struck me as odd - pretty much the only reason you buy a 320d is for the lower running costs yet everyone goes for the massive wheels, not really sure I understand why :p

But I can get part-worn ling longs for cheap m8

I think what we forget sometimes on this forum is that people buy a car a lot of the time because they see it, Like the look of it so want to own it.

I concede that this does always seem to follow with some man maths and justification on how it will do more MPGZ etc etc.
This guy obviously didnt buy this car purely for economy as this would be a stupid purchase.

Anyway... Nice car mate!

It's a lovely looking car, there is no doubting that. But the guy bought the car to "reduce running costs", which is odd when you consider what he's just bought.

People are fixated on MPGz (I know this, as I once was the same) and forget about other costs that are involved in the running of a car.

i have the latest 320d m sport but a tourer

it has the 19 inch wheel upgrade, tyre sidewalls are 35 and run flats, I can tell you the ride is harsh.

I didn't think you could get a stiffer ride than the S-Line Audi but BMW have managed it. I found it shocking, I couldn't live with that ride day to day.

The adaptive suspension is a must, at least in 330d form all the first round of BMW cars have this spec'd. I am surprised with our quality roads that BMW UK haven't dropped the runflats considering the amount of bad press they get.

yeah the 320 has adaptive suspension or at least the one i have does.

I will drop the run flats come tyre change time. If i get a puncture i shall simply call the breakdown assistance.

Has this type of thread become so common and have we become so bored and familiar with them that conversation descends into several pages of dialogue about tyres, ignoring the yarns of the OP? :D

Well it looks like it might all be fantasy anyway!

There are some Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RFT's on Camskill for the price he quotes actually.

Ah, not fitted prices though. Got my hopes up!

From my original enquiries, no one round here will touch RFTs if they dont supply them.
