6GB RAM

tbh i would wait for the next gen cards to come out, But if you cant then a 7970 overclocked to 1200/1700+ will do well until they do.

1200/1700 is a good clock to aim for. If you can get 1250/1719 then i find this to provide excellent performance at 1440p.

@wavehunter,

IMO, in order of performance/longevity with taking into account keeping an eye on future gaming requirements is Titan>7970/50>68/70.

Who ever wants to debate it, feel free, that's my judgment and sticking to it.:D

No-one is going to debate what your own personal feel on the situation is as long as it isn't based on misleading information :).

I don't do misleading info, I either quote others information in the fashion it was implied, or point out my own opinions.

I can't help if certain people only read what they want me to be saying, so they can then mix it up to suit their pov.:)

I disagree on point one but that's fine.

On the second point, I've got absolutely zero interest in doing pages of twisting and turning again. :D

Thanks guys.

Looking at the single card set-up results, the 7970 beats the 680 by 3:1 on those charts. I'm not ready to drop the best part of a grand on a water cooled dual card set-up when there's likely to be a shift in prices once newer top-end stuff becomes available, but I'm buying with a view to getting another identical card 6-12 months down the line.

For info, I play MOH, COD, BF3, F1 2012 and occasionally flight sim.

MOH, BF3 and F1 run best on AMD, COD is mental fps on any and afaik, flight sim runs best on Nvidia.

If you went AMD, would you use Crysis 3 or Bioshock?

If not, that's an extra £30/£35(price is dropping now I found out yesterday) back in the pocket.

From what I saw when selling a set of my codes, the Nvidia mmo isn't getting much back in way of selling them off @£15-£20.

God forbid we agree on something.:p

Thank **** for that.:D

:)

And on this day, peace broke out :D

Agreed, the Nvidia in game credit codes don't seem that popular :(

Hopefully there's a lawyer in here that can draw up a peace treaty.:D

I think it's more down to getting AAA titles where as any one can get on the play for free titles anyway.

If we all recommend AMD to unsure consumers and show AMD gaming evolved titles, what great potential this forum has to be a better unbiased place.

It's never unbiased, it's always bias towards the popular choice of each gen of gpus, unless it's very close in all regards-price/performance.

I have never noticed the forum for AMD to be this popular before though, which can only be down to the massive popularity of AMD at the moment, it's not just here, it's everywhere there is a comment box available on the web.

Gaming Evolved is on a massive push at the moment, if the titles are popular, then they are as valid as TWIMTBP always were in the sense that you used to get loads of Nvidia titles v's a few AMD titles as comparison in the past.

It's up to Nvidia to get back to pushing it's weight behind titles, we can't help it if they have pulled the plug on TWIMTBP, but hopefully they are just sleeping as I want as much IQ candy that I deem worthy of my cash.

At this rate, the only figures worth putting up will be GE titles as the rest won't be shiny shiny or demanding..

So it leaves the onus at Nvidia's door in regards to getting popularity back in regards to equal out some bias.

:)

One wouldn't care if one didn't feel it was directed at them, And one must reflect on it to realize why one would feel it was about them.

I don't care if it's directed at me, Greg, our mothers or your mother it's eye wateringly cringe worthy.

p.s. it's 'realise' - take it you aren't at uni for English :D :p

I am dyslexic, thus this comment is kinda unfair :( I rely on Word correcting software in all my typing and uni work :(

You have made me cry now :(

You're sooo evil!
