Looking to upgrade my mobo soon, I have a Phenom 965 BE at the minute and really wanted to keep the costs down so looking at an AM3+ board that will take my CPU and also run my Corsair SSD at full speed as my Asus M4A79XTD EVO will only run it at half speed 3gb/s.
I will probably use everything else for now.......
Antec 650 true power
12gb G skill Ripjaws
Radeon HD 6870
Corsair force 3 SSD 128gb
Stock cooler
Couple of other sata drives
Coolermaster Haf 912 case

Anyone got good things to say about their AM3+ boards?

My M5A88-V Evo does everything I want, but I wouldn't change a board just for Sata 3 ports as the difference wont really be noticeable.
But rather than go down the 'buying everything from scratch' route, this way I could buy an AM3+ motherboard and add a pile driver etc at a later date, meaning I could just upgrade the motherboard for now and I could still use all my existing hardware.

I,m soon to upgrade my mobo and i,m also running the same cpu Phenom 965 BE with old ddr2 memory though :(
I,m thinking of going for the Asus M5A97..seems to get good reviews.

Go for a 990x series mobo. Look closely at power phases, you do not want 4+1 if you are going piledriver later, 6+2 or better.

If you are thinking of staying with AMD then you may as well go for a top of the range MOBO as it is rumored that the steamroller will also use AM3+, so if you buy a good AM3+ mobo now you will be able to be competitive with the next gen as well.

I know the board in my system is at the higher price end but you really do get a lot for the money it seems to be a very stable board.

Asus Sabertooth 990FX/Gen3 R2.0 is due out in the next week or 2. I'm waiting for it! Impatiently.

If you can stretch the budget go for either what anthony suggested or 1uke. High end AM3+ motherboards are cheap considering all the features you get and these two boards have the sturdiest components around which come in handy if you end up getting a high powered 8 core chip. The new sabertooth due to be released has pcie 3.0 making it the only am3+ board with it, you wont find a performance difference now but in a year or two, who knows?

I have the crosshair formula Z board and i would say its worth every penny.

The new Sabertooth looks good, anyone got a link to the prices etc?

It's not available yet so price is unknown but I assume its just going to replace the current Sabertooth R2 so should be around the £150 mark?

Overclockers are expecting it in stock either this week or next I believe.

Ok next question would be is my memory going to be ok for this board.
I have G.Skill Ripjaw 8GB (2x4gb) 12800CL9
And
G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM)
I know I will have to change that for a piledriver cpu

The Sabertooth 990fx is a good overall board, I've had one for ages and serves me well. One small downfall I feel the board has however is it's max memory support is 1866mhz, which is pretty low compared to most boards on the 990fx chipset, and perhaps a decision maker if you were looking to run your memory at higher speeds!
