DO NOT buy the 27" DGM Monitors

What makes you think that is necessary? Everybody knows the positives of buying these monitors, a separate thread isn't needed for that. There are already plenty.

The point of this thread was to show the bad things about this monitor. Things that you don't often hear about. It's great that yours works, as I'm sure hundreds of other customers' do, but there are many people who wouldn't want to take the risk knowing how fragile they are, which is why this thread was started.

if you have a problem don't send enotes
6 days of enotes my rma wasn't even started
1 phone call and they guy promised to send a psu out asap which will hopefully be at home when i get back from work

but I'm happy so far with tech I expect DOA stuff from time to time so can't complain too much

I will be honest I have 2 of these on my desk at work.

No problems at all, other than the stands are not that sturdy and if you knock the desk the one screen tilts forward and angles downwards - but for the price they are great.

I'm thinking about buying one of these

Understand that the stand isn't very good but I am wall mounting so should be ok. Now.....how bad are the speakers?

are they good enough for basic windows sound alerts? The reason I ask is that we have two very young kids so I have headphones on for music, videos and gaming. That said, I don't want to wear headphones all the time I'm at the PC but having some sound for basic stuff would be nice.

Well after about 10 days of use, my power brick has died. Left the PC to go watch a film, came back and monitor was off! Checked the power brick and it's not getting any power :(

Posted a message in the CS forum, but will call up tomorrow morning to hopefully expedite things. Shame this happened, as the monitor its self was beautiful.

Hopefully OCUK can send out another power supply; if not, I'm wondering if its worth returning the monitor as a whole...although I'm not sure if I could cope with going from 1440p back to 1080p!!!

Exactly the same thing happened to my DGM. There was no power to the monitor and the light on the power brick had gone off. I told OcUK and they sent me a new power brick. I plugged it in, switched it on and.... nothing. At first I thought they had accidentally sent me my original "faulty" power brick but after checking the serial number I realised that wasn't the case. So I unplugged the cable from the brick to the monitor and the light on the power brick came on. When I plugged it back into the monitor it went off again. So it turned out to be the monitor that was faulty, not the brick. I told OcUK and they replaced my monitor (and brick) with a brand new monitor (and brick). As an unexpected bonus, it turned out that the replacement monitor had none of the annoying backlight bleed of the previous (faulty) monitor so I'm a very happy man.... for as long as this one lasts!

Thanks for the info. I'll be calling OCUK first thing tomorrow morning and returning the monitor.

im wondering if there is a better third party power brick which is more reliable?

Obviously if its under warranty you need to get it sorted, but thinking for the future

not a bad idea id love a third party one for during the time i have to wait on rma for another woot 14 days with no psu for my dgm not even seen it powered up yet fml

Got mine yesterday (21/3/2013) and it broke today... pretty certain its the power brick, have contacted overclockers. Hope a new power supply is all it needs. fingers crossed!

I think DGM must have some quality control and change management issues.

Where I used to work we bought 20 of their monitors at once. Every monitor from this batch had to be sent back with the same fault.

Wish I had seen this thread before!

Got mine same date and pretty sure the power brick is faulty too. Sent it back and awaiting a reply regarding replacement. Am hoping it's a simple replacement and then the monitor works 100% after that.

Yes the stand is comical but I can deal with that and was fully aware that it was wobbly before purchase. As mentioned in the B grade sale thread, I kind of hoped they could send me a brick first so I didn't have around a week with a monitor that I have just bought that doesn't work. I would understand if I was asking for a monitor replacement but it's just the power supply.

Mines worked great for the past 6 months! Great value for money and I'm sure way more are perfectly fault free then those with faults!

I honestly dont know why people buy them and then complain when a monitor which is very well known for problems/poor build quality breaks. If there was nothing wrong with them they would be the price of a Dell would'nt they? Never has the phrase "get what you pay for" been more true! The only way you are able to buy a panel of this quality and res is by scrimping on other parts of the build. If you dont want to worry/take a chance then pay the extra for a Dell but if you are willing to take a chance to get a cheap panel then so be it. I personally like them but just a warning to those of you maybe expecting to much :)
