***ArmA 3 Thread***

for £20 this is a bargin. Had a good go at this yesterday, disappointing to see the game is already being spammed with wasteland servers but fair enough. I have to be careful I just play this casual as Arma 2 almost cost me my relationship! lol.

enjoyed playing some co-op yesterday for the most part, had about 3 crashes but expected. performance isnt as good as i thought it was maybe need to make sure my cpu is overclocked id expect and I swear there's a memory leak after playing for a few hours. The lack of copters in co-op is a pain even on 30 man server as theres a lot of waiting around for pick-ups (more so than usual), From what iv seen people seem to be getting into this quickly as not many idiots, and most people seem to know the basics enough to get squads fighting objectives. Objective locations seem much nicer than in Arma 2 , although is it me or is there generally less AI enemies?

few questions:
1. is there currently anyway of saving a loadout so that i can go to the gear area and just get the right gun/hat etc as i cant stand the default gun/scope combo? (bc hats are important!)
2. I cant tag enemies, has that been implemented bc it ain't working for me :( or do i need to rebind?
3. Is magazine storing bugged?

Loadouts are specific to class unless the mission has been created to allow kit selection in the briefing or custom loadouts have been added to a units init field by the mission creator.
As far as I'm aware only the highest rank in a group can spot enemies without having to go through the conversation tree in the comand menu (not 100% on this can anyone confirm?).
 
New update for Domination! I want people on this tonight. Would be good to get some testing done for it.

    Added 8 thermal imaging modes to the UAV
    UAVs are now available to players the entire time, though will display an "UNAVAILABLE" hint if an AO's radio tower is still present
    Coloured the "Activate Personal UAV" action to make it more obvious
    Dead bodies / destroyed vehicles are now deleted after 10 minutes, helping to keep the server clean
    Enemy stragglers in captured AOs will be deleted after 15 minutes, helping to keep the server clean
    Fixed issue where multiple markers would appear after server had been running for a long time
    Introduced Tonic's Virtual Ammobox System, allowing players to easily select / equip gear and save/load gear loadouts. This will also resolve the issue where players simply dropped items at the ammobox, flooding the place with empty magazines and weapons
    Did NOT introduce the =BTC= Revive script. Not everybody will want this and, if you do, it's easy enough to add yourself
    Added "Side Missions". Side missions are separate missions that run paralell to the generated AOs, providing players with something else to accomplish which will reward the team with extra, more powerful vehicles. This currently includes 3 missions and 1 sub-mission, each of which will be chosen at random and spawn in a completely new position every single time. A large array of side mission types will be created with future releases
    Introduced many new sound clips (mainly for the "Talk to Contact" Sub-Side Mission). I may remove these in a later version to reduce filesize.
    Side Missions have a 15 - 30 minute delay between each mission
    Included more JIP marker checks
    Introduced a random 10 seconds - 2 minute wait in-between AOs
    13 random wrecks now spawn in random places across the island
    Fixed issue where players could, in-between an AO being completed and one being created, use their UAVs to view the new target before the radio tower was created
    Begun to add in a few admin actions, allow admins to skip bugged AOs / side missions
    Numerous small bug fixes and cleaning up of code

306.1MB update for the Alpha (non dev build). Trying to find change log now...

Good good, thought I had broken our server. Was having a good game on Domination then. Myself and another player were the pilots, ferrying people around and the other 28 players we actually using team work and comms to complete the tasks.

Edit - Going to put our server on the Dev build. Probably more stable than the newly patched version is right now.

Tried Wasteland on this earlier today its absolutely horrible.

You can't pick weapons up out of vehicles unless you move the vehicle or drop them on the floor first, spawns are terrible, think i'll be leaving that for a while untill it matures.

It would leave it on stable build as a lot of changes happen to the dev build that are breaking missions...
