Bioshock 3 - Infinite

Anyone run this on a 5870 + Q6700 or similar?

Q6600 + GTX470

Mostly high, models and textures on ultra. v-sync disabled. Runs around 60fps at the start. I turned off the FPS monitor to immerse myself in the game though. Did notice some very slight slow downs at times. That's at 1980x1200.

D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\BioShock Infinite\Engine\Config\BaseEngine
Scroll Down To [SystemSettings]
VsyncTo60WhenUnder30=False Change to VsyncTo60WhenUnder30=True

Save and close and Right click BaseEngine and set to read only.

Tested on known part where frame rate hits 30FPS now its a solid 60fps :D

Thanks Shankly, I have updated my other thread regarding the fps lock to 30 issue. Works a treat :D

There is no difference to fps having fsaa off or any of the texture quality settings on lower than Ultra so they get whacked all the way up :D

I noticed that with texture quality. Makes like no difference in performance between medium and Ultra.

I've left mine on High for the time being but may just whack up to Ultra. There isn't much difference in texture quality unless you're going into pixel peeping the textures so may just leave on high.

Never played Bioshock, quick question?

Will i be able to pick the story up if im new to the series?

Heh it's difficult not to whack on Ultra on a 27" screen :o

It's a new story with new characters so yup.

Anyone else having stuttering problems with crossfire?

Im on 6950 crossfire no stutter, i was grtting a crash tho so updated to latest beta drivers 13.3 and its been spot on since

Hope this helps

Edit* i get a slight stutter when the game saves but i think thats not related, probably normal

What difficulty are people playing this on? Just watched this video, he recommends playing it on Hard, anyone agree?

No spoilers in this:

played about 2 hours or so on hard so far... it hasn't been hard at all yet.

Only died the once, and that was trying to ignore a sentry gun shooting me rather than blowing it up.

Pre-ordered from GMG but it failed during the transaction and no money was taken. Then the keys arrived anyway and are working in Steam!

I spoke to them as I don't want my account banned and they said enjoy the free games!

Good times. Now to get out of work on time so I can actually play it.

Ahh no :( say it ain't so...

Has anyone worked out if there is a way of enabling 1999 mode via a .ini tweak yet?

While the mode is usually locked until the player has completed the campaign once, those wanting a hardcore experience straight off the bat can simply enter the fabled Konami code.

That's right: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.

There are variations according to the platform: the code above works for the Xbox 360, but on PS3 you'll need to enter O and X in place of B and A. On PC, the Cancel and Confirm keys will replace B and A.

Def go with hard for full experience. When you get your pre-order puzzle bonuses and season pass bonuses you get a nice boost to help you along aswell. The golden guns look great!

Tempted not to use the code I got from the puzzle game as I figure it will just make it easier and I'd rather play it as it was intended.
