I don't want to, or really have the time to, join an online gaming community, I just play with 3/4 of my friends. I was part of an online gaming community before for DCS A-10C and I didn't enjoy the experience. We do play coop missions, and like I said they are good fun on Arma 3, but playing against AI quickly becomes repetitive and not much of a challenge. There are countless bugs, like I genuinely couldn't be bothered to start counting them. A couple I will mention are; having to put guns/binocs on the ground to pick them up and car windows being indestructible. I don't have wrong mod versions (I don't even have any mods installed on Arma 3) or a bad connection and I can't say whether every single server I went on to earlier had improperly configured servers. Wasteland is good fun, easy accessible, doesn't require much effort to get into, it works incredibly well on Arma 2 and is a lot of fun. That's why I play it. I don't think your question of whether I played Arma 2 or Combined Ops much has any relevance.

dude its a ****ing ALPHA....stop your whinging. seriously. why dont you just come back when its beta or something.

i may be alone here, but on the wasteland map, does anyone think the map is utter rubbish? theres pretty much 1 place to go and thats the airport, no major towns or anything.
 
You guys are being harsh on Daze. I am absolutely loving Arma since discovering it from Day Z. I have had the pleasure of discovering lots of different co-op missions and Wasteland. Still playing it almost daily.

The Alpha for me is not that much fun, so I am waiting for the required updates and new content released before going back to it. I know for sure I will be playing Arma 3 for years to come but there is no rush to play the Alpha daily when it's a small taster of the final game.
 
Yeah lets not turn this into the DayZ thread whine fest. If someone has a negative opinion this isnt a fan forum, its for discussion of a game, and they have as much right to say it as anyone. God knows i wasnt kind on the SWTOR thread.

Loving it at the moment but I would like to see some progression made. Whens the next build?

It does it's job of letting us test infantry combat. Perfectly fine for most missions!
 
I'm getting a little fed up now of people moaning about the Alpha on forums like this when I bet 90% of them have never used the bug tracker or added any feed back on the official forums, it's an Alpha test get with the program, or if you don't want to contribute to help improve the game just wait till release, It's pointless moaning on here when there are official channels where your points can be heard by the people actually making the game you never know something may be done to address your problems.

Its a really bad representation for Arma to have it played like this. Smart thing to do really is only play a game when its at its peak, all fixed up.
Best games I have are just deathmatch because its just wasting time otherwise. Arma is a big game normally with tiny details that all add up but playing it like this is like a sandbox.
It is slightly crap, for a proper game I think I need to reinstall arma 2 but I dont really have the time anyway as it is normally an epic sized game

What were you expecting from the alpha?
 
^^ Im not complaining, I only bought because I wanted the full game. From a players point of view, it may not work out right now - tough
I only bought Arma2 when they did the ACE mod for it, the basic game aint as good

How many reboots does the MGT server do a day on average, Im not sure if this release is more stable

Its either Steam or the SSD doing funny tricks. Going from 1.8 gig to 200meg back to 6 gig free after I updated. Think I need to refresh the ssd or steam just needs a lot of space to juggle files maybe

Christ!!! haha. What do I have to say? Thanks for offering irrelevant advice and sounding like a condescending ---- the whole time. I've gave my reasons for not wanting to play it just yet, please realise it's just that simple. I didn't think it would be hard to understand or even if anyone would care. I certainly didn't expect people to take it personally and develop a vendetta against me.

So please can we leave it now.

Yes, if you noticed I said I will leave it for a couple of weeks then check to see if there's an update and see if it's up to much. So most probably I will be coming back when it's beta or something. And I have been making threads about bugs on http://feedback.arma3.com.

Yep, cheers. I think the game will be excellent when it's finished and I'm sure I will put hundreds of hours into just. But atm, like you, I feel it gets very dry very quickly. Perhaps people think I'm a Battlefield fanboy just bashing Arma and that's why they've took my comments so badly.

I agree, but I won't be judging the game now, I'll just take it as it is and wait for better versions of it to come out. I've went back to playing Arma 2 for the meantime, there's still an awful lot to do given all the mods and scenarios available, really looking forward to seeing what kind of content is brought to Arma 3 from the community.
 
Personally im having fun with the alpha, i never really liked arma 1 or 2 but i do like 3, tho i dont play on my tod tho as ill be too crap but co-op with a regular mate is fun and the mission editor i had my mate teach me a couple of things and watched a few of them tutorials on utube and got myself a nice mission which is basic but works and is fun or so my mate said for learning in just a day or two. Expanding the mission when i can and learning more.

Bugs theres some but nothing too bad except the one where everyone seems to be able to pick up stuff off dead guys or on ground when i cant it just refuses to drag over to my storage even tho i have space and it shows white :/ Hope that gets fixed and draging to the ground first doesnt work i have tried it.

Anyhow just expressing my personal view on the alpha so far. Liking the alpha, it works well enough for me as in i dont believe i have ever had 1 crash yet, i dont play on servers much just between a few mates or the very odd occasion i do join a random hosted server which is usually ok tho is usually full of idiots so we leave which is a shame.
