H80i - Toying with the idea of one

And away you go again. I never said Corsair are responsible or are paying OcUK

Just go away now.

Again, you are wrong and again I will quote you directly:

If OcUK pays for return to their place of business, Corsair needs to somehow reimburse OcUK.
(Emphasis Added)

Corsair do not NEED to do anything with regards to OCUK, returns are a standard part of running a retail business.

You don't understand law and you have a vendetta against Corsair.

[Edited because you really aren't worthy of the energy]

So no, I won't go away, but I am happy to continue to correct your biased and false comments on issues you clearly have absolutely no understanding of.

If you want to bang heads, I can pretty much guarantee mine is a lot harder.

Paladine

Yes, Corsair needs to do something to keep OcUK happy or possible loose them as a customer. That is what I said.

When did "needs to do" start meaning the same thing as responsible for paying .

I happen to be a globally respected consultant on consumer law and do understand it, specifically European Consumer Rights Directives, Consumer Protection Directives and the eCommerce Directive. If you bother to do your research you will see I have given hundreds of interviews on consumer rights issues to the press/media, spoken at dozens of conferences and engaged in countless government consultations across the world on the same.
Wow, with all knowledge, education, being globally respected, etc. you sure have a hard time even understanding my simple only slightly educated use of the English language. Little things like "needs to do" being misunderstood to mean "responsible for paying" for example.
I will say you are very adapt at twisting others words into something not even close to what they said.

No please drop it.. I'm not respond to your posts again. Have a good day.

@ OP what processor do you have?

If it's something cool running and you're not overclocking then you don't need a D14 or similar and you'd be just fine with a lower end air cooler.

Don't bother with any of this all-in-one guff

one of the things I like about the H80i is the space it gives you in the case there just seems to be a lot more space for air to move in the case.

I do have the corsair link2 software installed and I have not had any issues so far with it. I am using windows 8 pro 64 bit

I'm toying with the idea of getting the h110 for my new build (3770k), performance looks the same as a top end air cooler though but it looks much nicer than having a big bulk of metal sitting there.

If OcUK pays for return to their place of business, Corsair needs to somehow reimburse OcUK. After all OcUK is Corsair's valued customer and if they don't keep OcUK happy they take the chance of loosing OcUK as a customer.

Corsair, by dealing direct with customer is only saving time and expense that OcUK would pass on up the line to them if they didn't deal direct with customer.

OcUK is a business and as such if they can't make a profit selling Corsair products they won't sell them.

Also don't forget that Corsair is not telling customers
they will pay the cost of post unless the customer asked for them to. Noctua and Phanteks both volunteer that service... as in BETTER CUSTOMER RELATIONS. After all they don't have to do it either... but they do!

Actually Corsair told me they'd pay. I just needed to call them to arrange time and date. They also provided me with a FREE way to call them.

I found their phone number and call them to ask how they wanted to proceed. That it would cost me almost as much as a USB stick was worth to post it internationally and they setup the UPS pickup. ;)

When I asked their customer service department why they didn't offer I was told they would pay for post but customer had to request / ask for it. That is what I was told on the phone to their SoCal offices.

Yes, the way to call them free is to use Skype. I did not because I have free international calling as part of my land line so it didn't matter. Corsair used to be a very good company.. and if they get their act back together they could be again. But the definitely need to get these cooler problems resolved sooner rather than later.

with all these apparent fails, I'm rather curious to exactly what these people are doing, other than installing and forgetting, I suspect some ambiguous activity to see exactly how far they can push this hardware, without really knowing the consequences

That seems to be a stretch but please do tell. What sort of "ambiguous activity" could have done that would damage either water or air coolers? I can't think of any. You can do is speed up and slow down the motors. ;)

Only other thing would be to lap the bottom but that voids the warranty.. and all of the above failures have been covered by warranty.

I went from a D14 to a h100, H100i, H100i and one final H100i then back to a D14 and will never touch a H anything again.

My H100 started leaking, The first H100i rattled like mad, the second would not cool and the cpu ran really hot and the Third was fine until the lights stopped working and then the pump failed.

At least with a D14 you get peace of mind. :)

If like me you had a hard time believing a company as good Corsair used to be would market products that has so many problems.. and keep on marketing them.

I had one of the first coolit domino liquid coolers, hose snapped off before I could install it,id never touch an all in one cooler again, you know where you are with an air cooler

Reading this thread should give a good idea of what you should do. ;)

... you have a vendetta against Corsair.

Correct Paladine. I was on a couple of threads about 8 months ago here and he was exactly the same then. At that time I'd had my H100 for a few months and was trying to give my opinion to another fourm member who was considering buying one. As a H100 owner, I thought he might be interested to hear my opinion. Doyll then started hijacking my posts and spouting all of his anti Corsair rhetoric. I remember him telling me that I'd be 'very very lucky' if my pump didn't fail. Well, I've had my H100 about 1 year now. It works perfectly. So, as an experienced (but maybe very very lucky :p) owner of a Corsair liquid cooler, I can hand on heart recommend them. Another thing about Doyll, he admits to never even ever owning a H series cooler, so therefor, he's hardly an authority on them is he ?
