Anyone scared of dying without leaving your mark in human history?

What theory would that be? The multi-verse theory? Not really any proof for an infinite universe. There are far better reasons to believe why the universe is not infinite. An infinite universe makes no sense at all. And, the infinite can be found no where in the known observable universe - so why would the universe itself be any different?

No, not multiverse theory. A single, yet infinite, universe. Because it is infinite all possible (constrained within the rules of the universe) events have occurred. It's a little mind bending but not that hard to get your head round.

Nothing is infinite in terms of something been around for ever... but evolution changes everything.

Well some theories say that our universe has expanded and contracted over and over agin (multiple big bangs) so the Universe herself could be infinite.

That's sci-fi, I'm afraid.

You heard that. Or Nobel prize winning cosmologist has spoken. Put your PHD papers down guys.

:D

You might want to read what Physicists rather than Engineers have to say on the nature of the Quantum nature of the Universe.

Castiel, so why is the universe not repairing itself? The only reason people want to push the idea of an infinite universe is because they are trying to get rid of God. As I've said, we have far better reasons to believe that the universe is not infinite.

One the reasons we are even here is because the universe has flaws in it.

We are not trying to rid the story of God, we are explaining through science that you are wrong.

Jason explain to me about the The Higgs boson, you never knew anything about it until science proved it is there.

If the universe is infinite, then mass must also be infinite, otherwise the density would be zero or infinitely low, which it is not.

What do you mean by repairing itself?

I don't know what reasons you have, but current physics suggests otherwise and it has nothing to do with proving or disproving God, that is just rhetoric. An infinite universe doesn't impact on the concept of God anyway, can not an infinitely powerful creator create an infinite Universe? Are there limits to God?

A flat Universe (which current observations suggest is the most likely) means that the Universe has zero total energy, so effectively the amount of positive energy (matter) is exactly cancelled out by the negative energy (mavity).

Balance.

Many Christians are exceptionally knowledgable about every discipline of Science. Don't confuse Jason2 with your average Christian.

I may not be as knowledgeable as a lot of folks on many things, Castiel, but don't let that think you're a better person than me.

"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong."

Whoever said I was a better person than you? We can all quote the Bible as well....

"A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing his opinion."

What I did state and it is true that your beliefs are not consistant with the average Christian, which is what I did say in response to the sweeping statement made by Suarez.

Incidently, you may claim not to be as knowledgeable as others on many things, yet you certainly state your opinon over those with more knowledge with assumed authority.

"An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."

Jason2 did you watch that video i gave you the link too.

I think it's what you learn living your life that matters and if you leave some sort of mark to other humans then ok that's fine, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
