Is my housemate retarded?

Shared with a friend from school when we went uni who was much smarter than me but was lost when it came to the most basic of tasks. Would open a tin of beans and just plonk it on the gas hob to heat and then add raw sausages. Tolerate the person or move on..

Just shagg his girlfriend behind his back then you can bask in self knowing satisfaction instead of posting silly threads on the internet.;)

Well, i know he isn't because he has a good job and is good at it.

However does things all the time like the following;

Gets something from the fridge and leaves it open
Empties the hoover and throws a main plastic filter part away
Leaves lights on
Turns the shower on then goes to his room for 10 minutes before actually going in
Does the same as above but with the iron
Boils a pan of water with food in and leaves it overflowing on the hob

I'm not sure if he is lazy or just stupid. Does anyone else have friends like these?

Ray?

Get hold of a smoke bomb. Next time he leaves the iron on, detonate it in the same room. Let him think that he's set the house on fire, he'll fix up sharpish.

I'm guessing we all have our peculiarities but some people seem to take it to a whole different level and thats before taking into account being inconsiderate or absent minded.

Really used to get frustrated with people who'd pile up dirty cooking utensils and used plates in the sink itself (when there was a space on the side specially for it).

Another one that seemed not uncommon was people using up the last of the toilet roll and just leaving it, to me its just common courtesy and matter of course if you finish it up to replace it with a new roll.

I had a housemate at uni that was a poshboy from an upper class town. He was in his THIRD year, yet some of the things about him:

-Could not open the front door which had a Yale lock and a doorknob, thought it was broken.
-Did not know there was any other variety of popcorn other than salted.
-Thought that not paying TV license would get him an instant criminal record.
-Did not wash up properly, just ran the tap over things, food still clearly attached to plates.
-Had a gaming rig which cost him £1200, all he played was CS:S.

Talk to him about it, if you have the balls.

We have, two of us basically said a year ago "you either sort yourself out or we are not living with you"

He is much better now and cleans up pretty much all the time but its random other things I was checking if other people do - another - putting the radiator on full blast and leaving his bedroom window open

Personally I would just shut the window and turn the radiator down

-Thought that not paying TV license would get him an instant criminal record.
I had a TV license letter the other week that made it sound like I was being taken to court and I would not have any evidence to defend my self if I didn't let someone from tv licensing into my house to gather evidence on my behalf
No other company in the world would be allowed to use bully tactics like the tvlicense does it's ridiculous

FYI I do not have a TV or a TV package.
I do however watch on demand programs that does not require a license.

I am not prepared to let someone from TV licensing go through all my browser history as I consider that an invasion of my personal privacy.

What I do on my computer is non of their business

Wait unit he's been in the shower for 5-10 minutes, flick the breaker off, this never get's boring. The screams can be quite loud

Edit: try not to imagine him naked, soaping himself up though, pervert.....:D

I did this to my old housemate quite often because he would take forever in the shower. :D
