Got one of theese as a replacement for a vertex 2e bigfoot that died after 15 months use. Refurb model that i havent installed yet. Is it worth keeping as im a bit wary of sandforce ssd's after having owned the vertex 2e. I know it would run a lot faster than my old 2e. Ive been pondering selling it to help pay for a samsung 840 pro 120gb.

Mine has just gone on me in a new build. Checked out OCZ site and it seems there are several "issues" with the Agility 3's. I'm looking for a replacement as I can't be bothered with all the hassle of running a patched up drive.

Yours might be fine, but it seems there are plenty out there that aren't.

Mine is nearly 18 months old and still going strong. I have one in my HTPC too which is great also.

A lot of people have had problems though, I'd go with a different drive if I was to buy another now.

setter, it would be really smart if you keep this drive. As we all know, earlier there were compatilibility issues, as is the case with many controllers. But now, with new firmwares releases by both SSD makers & also the controllers which combinedly work really well & promise you better results. I am more than happy with my Agility 3 & using this from the launch time.. :)

Yep, gonna hold out for a bit longer on a mechanical drive so i can save cash for a 256gb 840 pro. Several larger games i have id prefer to run from an ssd, but 120gb fills up rather quickly.

Yes to that one setter, did the same thing really its the least you want, l put current one's SSD my older games l still play on a normal 500GB HD, which l use as back up.

Hi,

My agility 3 120gb just died after 3 months and was running the latest firmware. My crucial m4 has been in my other system for a year and was bought second hand and still works perfectly make of that what you will but I will only now only be buying Crucial, IBM or Samsung SSD drives.

Hugest

seems to be poor reliability with ocz/sandforce idk why,corsair/sandforce seem to be better though, dont see many failures on here

Whats the verdict like on the vertex 4 range? See that ocz have moved to a different controller with this model, (indilinx). Seen someone on here who's 2e died as well, however ocz replaced the drive with the vertex 4. Though his was only a few months old.

not sure, they use indilinx because they now own it,how it stacks up against sandforce idk but cant be no worse,i think most sandforce issues were down to firmware

maybe ocz use poor quality nand compared to others? if it were the controller you'd see a lot more sandisk/corsair/intel issues maybe?
