AMD at GDC 2013: FirePro, Radeon, and Gaming Unified

I run 3 120Hz screens without issue. It worked straight out of the box with no messing about needed. If you use 3 3D screens on 1 card, you need to connect 2 D-DVI connectors and 1 DP connector.

Agh yeah, I completely forgot you've got a 3 x 120HZ set up :p
I remember when the SA23700D was on that cheap deal, tons of people bought some (And some people bought 3, and were having an absolute nightmare trying to get them all working as they should)
I bought one, had a GTX680 at the time, had to get rid of the GTX680 for the 7970 though.

Sorry. I find it frustrating how many times AMD has made big headlines and nothing has come of it and instead of their customers holding them to it they seem to quickly forget it and fall hook line and sinker for the next big splash. Anyhow thats my stance I'll refrain from further derailing the thread.

To give an example ; Bullet. All that noise, and then NOTHING.

Sure they made some noises about tablets, and what have they got right now? Z-60, which is just pretty much a more efficient C-50, which is currently in a Fujitsu tablet at nearing the same price as i3's/i5 tablets.
Sure, they've got Temash/Kaveri, etc, but they're not out yet.

I knew this was a waste of time posting anything positive regarding AMD here.

I think you are missing the fact it is a forum and not everyone is going to just clap their hands because AMD bring out the 4 C's. Positive debate is good and your comment doesn't really help either does it?

I ummed are arred over the Sammy monitors and they are sweet as in 2D but they were not so good in 3D, so I went for the Asus.

The Sammys really do get a great write up though.

Never had a problem with mine in 3D, it was pretty meh with the GTX 680 as Nvidia's generic 120HZ support is diabolical, so with Tridef, I'd only have Side By Side 3D.

To get my GTX680 to work, I'd have to buy Nvidia's emitter and then EDID override my monitor, and hope it works (Which is quite frankly ridiculous)

So, sold it on, bought a 7970, made a little money back, and 3D worked fine in Frame Sequential.

Yer, it makes sense swapping to AMD for that. The good thing with the Asus is the built in emitter.

Over the last few days, I expected no less tbph-I blame it on missing out on free AAA titles and only getting in game cash for games everyone can play for free. ;)

Thanks for the heads up though.

Because most bought the cheap dvi>dp adapters instead of the real deal.

120Hz is not an issue on 3 X sammy's bigger brothers with DP inputs.

The guy that has the review site that posts on here said the 3D was fantastic as was the monitor on the whole.

I was informed it doesn't work from someone who tried the 3D kit, he said the sammy emitter interferes with the Nvidia one.:(

Nvidia's loss if it's the case.

The Samsung has a built in emitter too, it's just Nvidia don't give "generic" support.

That's lame as hell.

I'd personally rather use 3D Vision for its older game compatibility ; Rome Total war etc.

It is, it's just another needless lock out.:(

Have you ever tried making your own Tridef profiles Martini?

I mean, for instance in Bioshock Infinite no launch day 3D support via Tridef(it's supported now btw), but I was up and running in minutes with the Bulletstorm profile.

I haven't been using Tridef much recently.
I had a bash with DMC4 and it looked amazing.
Completed AC3 earlier, but I fear I'd have been running single figures had I tried 3D :p.

I really need to start using it more, but my Tridef doesn't work with Steam community enabled.

I did so much research into both prior to ordering my first and the Sammy won on 2D and lost on 3D whereas the Asus was vice versa. You know as well as me that reviewers can be biased and you need to read up as much as possible to try and get the overall view.

Do you have the Sammy?

Don't know anything about the steam community bit I'm afraid.

DMC4 does look the part.

Crysis 3 via Tridef is on a different planet all together over the in game 3D, although there is a hefty hit, but not too much of a problem on 2 X 7950.

Yep, I know all about reviewers, but I'm talking about the reviewer here, all he reviews is panels afaik and is held in very high regard in the monitor part of the forum, he gets asked a load of questions and answers where he can and said the sammy was fantastic at full price never mind OcUK's-'off the back of a lorry price' a total steal at the time.;):D

I read a few reviews at the time of purchase and they were all saying the same.:)

That's cool but I got the Asus a couple of weeks after release and info was light. In the 3D monitors I have seen, I am very happy with them and they keep me smiling.

Nice to see AMD's plans for the future, but tbh, doesn't bother me whether it's all just marketing talk or not, of which i'm sure nvidia will and do say the same crap.
As long they keep producing decent gpus that compete with nvidia i'm happy, if i'm honest i prefer AMD as it's all i've used really (give or take a few from the green team) but i have no problems going green if for me, they offer a better deal when the new gpus come along.
I really can't understand all the brand loyalty stuff or the knocking of users which don't share the same opinions as others in regards to who is best or a companies work ethics.
I openly admit i know very little when it comes to the ins and outs of the tech behind what each company offers, all i care about is performance and price, not what colour the card is.
I know the arguments aren't going to go away in the graphics card forum, but i don't half wish that one day, i'll be able to read a thread clearly based on a certain company, and not see the usual arguments a few posts into it.

lol. I don't come to this subforum much anymore, because in just about *all* the threads it's the same posters having the same arguments every time. This entire subforum is basically a giant grudge match for you guys and has been for ages.

gregster, rroff, martini (etc)... you guys need to get a room :p I don't care who of you is right.

It would just be so nice to click on a thread and not have 5 pages of back-and-forth between you guys all the damn time. Less is more!
