*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Why is it ridiculous  If there's no limit set on how much a company can sell it's phones for, they can just charge whatever they want which is unfair for those who want to buy it sim free (they may not be able to get credit) plus they're pricing their phones out of reach for joe public who would then just go and buy a competitors model (which may be cheaper), therefore Sammy lose out (albeit it may only be a few quid (and would Sammy care.....probably not).

Simple economics is serious business.

Dear Mr. Miller

Your pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy S4 (white) has been successful.

A £10 deposit has been taken off your debit card to secure you the handset when stock arrives on the 26th of April.

When the phone arrives into stock your order will be completed and the rest of the payment for the handset will be taken.

The package you have selected is the £26 per month, 24 month, 500 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data with a £99 payment for the phone.

We will contact you on the day of the phone coming into stock to confirm the delivery of your phone.

fuuuuUUUUUU thought i pre-ordered the black one.

They don't even offer the HTC One on that deal, how strange. From all the ridiculous prices floating around so far, thats by far the best deal I've seen.

Edit: Who was the cashback through?

I use Topcashback as I find it much better than Quidco generally, plus no fee :)

I take it that if signing up to a 24 month contract (like the £26pm T-Mobile one above), when the providers roll out competitively priced 4G towards the end of the year onwards, then they'll offer the upgrade for free or at a discount?
Not sure I'd want 12-18 months left on a 3g contract when everyone is switching to 4G speeds and software etc that utilises these speeds.

T-mobile are already offering deals if you're a certain length into a non 4G contract, it's likely others will offer something similar when their 4G services launch but no one could confirm that.

That is a really good deal but I have never heard of chitterchatter before ... Any of you used them or are you just taking the risk?

Who would you go to if you have a problem with the phone if you've bought from them ... Chitterchatter or t-mobile phone shop??

To be honest the retailer normally washes their hands of responsibility for the phone after about 2 weeks anyway so it's pretty irrelevant where you buy it from in that regard.

But yeah, chitter chatter are reasonably big, I also could have sworn EE owned them.

Bear in mind around 20-30% (iirc) of O2 stores are actually franchised so you're not technically buying from the network there either.

Does anyone know if there are any actual plans to bring 4G, either DC-HSDPA or LTE, to T-Mobile itself - or any plans to get rid of the brand and put everyone on EE? Or has nothing been said on any of this?

Nope ... Never seen it :p

Yeah I suppose, I had 1 month to exchange my phone when I got it from O2, after that the store weren't very helpful

Do you hear that noise??? It's their marketing team crying:D

Haha :D

Also I just got an email from Quidco, they're offering £150 cashback on S4 pre-orders with Vodafone

According to Daniel Nenni from SemiWiki.com Samsung uses a manufacturering process called 'gate first' for the Exynos 5 Octa chip, which is cheaper and simpler, but ultimately harder to yield, especially with more complicated System on Chips (SoC’s), leading to delays.

lol, that's awfully written.

anyway yes, true. I know you're not a regular to this topic but you should read it; this s600 quad exynos / octa issue has been discussed at length.
