I have been using a 320GB HDD for the past year, after my PSU took out my 750GB HDD. I didn't get a new HDD then since they were quite expensive. However, the prices of HDDs have seemed to come down.

I am looking for a HDD that is cost effective, by cost effective I mean one that isn't half the capacity, but only a small amount cheaper then one double the capacity. For example, the Seagate Barracuda 250GB is £40.99, while the 500GB Toshiba is £41.99. I also would like a fastish HDD, and of course one that is reliable.

Also, since I am writing a thread, I got a 60GB SSD from Overclockers last year, but it has stopped working, not sure what I should do about it.

You're talking about £/GB or £/TB, which is a reasonable metric. Do you have a set budget? The Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 3TB can be had for £30/TB. It depends how much you want to spend.

Find the original receipt email with your order number on it, phone up Overclockers and ask for an RMA. You will have to post the disk back to them, and they'll send a replacement to you (assuming it's still under warranty).

Don't really have a budget, although I don't want to get a massive HDD and only use like 600GB.

So I have to pay to send it back?
