Dying Hero Needs Treatment please donate

I too won't be donating. Why doesn't her employer pay for her treatment if she got work related injuries - I understand it was potentially through depleated uranium.

OK, I also understand that the tax payer is her employer and therefore whichever course of action is taken we will be footing the bill.

I have every sympathy for the woman but paying for experimental treatments is questionable.

You are entitled to your opinion. You've made your point and got a reaction so just leave it at that will you.

Regardless of how you perceive our troops, they are just doing their jobs Hero's or not, they fully deserve all the support they can get from home, whether that's from a charitable source or just our moral support. We've all been fortunate to live in a time when mandatory service hasn't been called upon so the fact these guys have put themselves in to this environment so we don't have to rightfully deserves our respect.

Do you think that if people stopped joining the armed forces, and those in it left when they could to such a degree that the numbers got very very low; the government would reintroduce mandatory service?

Even if they brought back mandatory service I would refuse to fight. They can't make me do anything I don't want to. Why would I fight for something I don't believe in?

Poor girl :/

That the NHS along with various charities wont help pay for the treatment says a lot though.

as for the hero thing, without knowing more about her, why and what she did, its impossible to say whether shes a hero or not.

From your recent posts you come across as someone who wouldn't fight for any reason at all, including family and friends. They'd probably just lock you up for the duration as you'd likely be a liability to all concerned.

The real heroes are on the streets. They keep themselves to themselves and don't boast about their works.

Banksy?

Hmmm

DU is pretty nasty stuff but its a massive jump to conclude that it was the cause of her illness

As a medic (and not say a tank gunner or round handler) im not sure how she would have been so "exposed" to it anyway? far more likely to be from radiology exposure

I do feel bad for her but seems a bit of a jump (certainly until more facts are established) from fact

The "hero" thing for our forces can get a bit too quickly used, but I would say that being a good doctor or nurse entitles you to that title pretty fairly anyway

also lol jason2 foaming at the mouth in this thread simply because it is do to with someone in the army

They don't have any right to defend their land, it's ours because we're a developed country and they're not. They're uneducated and grow opium to sell for guns and bombs. We have every right to take them over by any means necessary. Plus, we need to promote the spread of Atheism and show them that they're wrong to be a religious state.

As to hanging, I believe it is wrong. But hanging isn't the same as going in all guns blazing - in fact it's quite different because it's indiscriminate violence and more importantly it's happening in another country so it doesn't really count as much.

This is by far the worst post in this thread. Are you joking, or are you really as mental as this post makes you look?

Oh wait wait, "I know I'm joking based on your negative response" right?

It's a job, she isn't a hero. That's not to say she shouldn't be "admired" or whatever else for doing that job, but it's not heroic.

As for Jason2, whilst a lot of what he says is utter nonsense, the typical mentality of most people around here gets in the way of what he's saying.

Some people in this thread are posting much worse stuff than him, but because he's known to post crap, people only go after his posts. The whole jumping on people who tend to say unpopular things, regardless of what they've actually said issue is dragging this place down.

I think you need to ban him. Seriously, just look at all of his posts?

If he's not a troll (tip - he is) then he's a pretty twisted and vile person. A returnee as well, no doubt.

Twisted and vile for objecting to the concept of murder? What is going on here?

Yet he's calling for people to be killed left, right and centre himself, haha.

My opinion is forged from (sadly) reading many of his posts, he's an obvious troll (not unlike yourself in the CT nutjob threads :p).

While I hope this girl gets the medical attention she needs to save her from this frankly awful circumstance, are there not dozens of cases in Iraq where innocent civilians, including young children, are suffering from the same thing?

As someone in the armed forces myself, I would largely agree with you were it not for the fact that this girl helped save lives. When is that not a heroic thing to have done?
