Last time I order from a competitor.

I used to just go for the cheapest overall option but ocuk is the only place I buy from now, barring the odd items that aren't in stock/do not stock.

The haribo is a bonus and I actually like the fact that next day is the only delivery option, and the fact it's ALWAYS on time.

I'd have installed it with the fan facing up myself.

The PSU? I had it facing up in my 410 but it sucks the heat from my gfx cards in which would blow directly into it, so I swapped it for in this one. Also the case comes with fan filters for every fan pretty much which is nice, including the bottom where the PSU is.

Nothing much to add here: I've ordered 4 systems from OcUK over the last 10 years, 3 self-built and one OcUK-built. One of the self-builds had an incompatibility despite a spec-check beforehand and aftersales couldn't figure what it was, but otherwise I've always had good service from OcUK. I am due a new system, but I'm going through my work (NHS) this time round, as our Trust have opened a computing scheme for a limited time (1st-29th April) as a benefit-in-kind. It's a bit like cycle to work but with a computer.

I'm a little annoyed that we didn't price match. I would have happily price matched for you here at OcUK. I have not been asked by our sales team about whether we can price match on a Phantom 630. The answer would 100% have been a yes from me. (I'm the case buyer at OcUK)

Fan downwards also helps with cable management. It leaves the side of the psu were the cables come out closer to the mobo tray.

I've read quite a few times that the response to the notion of price matching is always a strict "no". I'd imagine price matched sales are better than sales going to other companies.

I don't mind paying a bit extra for the service you folk provide but I went with the competitor because it was £30 cheaper and I always ring up to see if I can get a price match (you guys have done so in the past, and saved me a good chunk of money so thank you!), but the most the guy on the phone said he could knock off was £5.

£100 or so quid difference in the last system I built between here and a competitor. I don't mind paying a little extra with OCUK as they have the best customer service out of the ones I've used, but when there's a hundred notes to be saved there's no other choice but to buy elsewhere.

We are always told prices are pre-discounted for our convenience

Those saying he's moaning or first world problems...

He's paid for next day. He hasn't got what he's paid for. I feel he is entirely justified with his response.

Next day delivery applies to only that, the delivery, i.e. the moment from dispatch. Any delays before that do not come into it unless you are paying for some sort of fast track service.

In this case the courier lived up to all expectations, it was the warehousing problem at the competitor. The item was dispatched on the 3rd, and arrived the next day, on the 4th.

You get what you pay for. When I spent £4k on my system last year I possible could have saved £100-£200 if I sourced the parts elsewhere but in the near on 9 years I've used OcUK I've never had any major issues so I'm happy to pay a little bit more. It's true, you get what you pay for.

I would just order from OcUK because I know that my goods will arrive on time. Free delivery too init!

Apart from my order that was supposed to be delivered Saturday but ended up getting it Tuesday?

I was refunded delivery costs though so all is good.

The parts are somehow different from OCUK? Do they perform £200 better?

Love these posts.
