Decent Video Editing Software?

Hey guys, I'm starting to record some let's plays, inspired by various youtubers

I could do with some assistance in getting it all ready however; I'm currently battling with windows movie maker, which as you may know, is pretty dire.

I'm using fraps to record the game play and sound, can anyone recommend a decent setup and procedure for getting videos up and looking nice?

Quite frankly, there's nothing wrong with Windows Movie Maker, which is free.

Adobe Adobe Premiere Elements 11.
Cyberlink PowerDircetor 11 isn’t too bad.
Adobe Premiere Pro is probably out of your league.

All of them do a free trial.

I use Powerdirector by cyberlink after it was voted the best video editing software here...

An older version of Premiere was being given away be Adobe a few weeks back.

I used to use Powerdirector (v7) but have now moved across to Movie Studio Platinum Suite 12 which only cost £39.99 (new).

Sony Vegas if you want a high-end piece of software that's cheaper than Premier/Final Cut.

Damn not compatible with W7 it seems, refuses to start - seems fairly common

Vegas,

Adobe premier is hardcore but vegas i've read is more for the at home light user.

I've just got adobe premier 6 on trial, the dogs balls of video editing it seems, problem is, it's like being on the bridge of the starship enterprise! So confusing, is Vegas easyish to use?
