benq XL2411T or Acer GD245HQ

I do use it with BF3 on the PC though. so I wouldn't notice any smoother play on this monitor even with fifa on xbox 360

The console will see absolutely no benefit from a 120Hz monitor as at maximum the games will run at 60fps, I believe this is true at least. Fairly sure you need to actually run a game at over 60fps to see any change.

Can your PC run BF3 at 120fps?

EDIT: after some searching, 120Hz is utterly pointless for console due to the low FPS, and unless your PC can handle well over 60fps you won't see a change.

I had an xbox running through mine, looked no different whatsoever. Consoles atm cant utilize 120hz, maybe the next gen will? I doubt it tho. You WILL see a big improvement on your pc gaming however ;)

Be lucky to get 1080p at 60fps out of the next gen consoles at least for some years.

Apologies for hijacking the thread again....

The BenQ XL2411T monitor came at 11am this morning. Fantastic service from Overclockers!. DPD delivered Sat with a 3pm order Friday...

If you decide to get this monitor going from an old 19" like I did, you wont regret it. Great build quality, stand is excellent, feels like quality!

I cant believe the difference, the blacks are so much better. I didnt realise I was looking at such horrible colours before. This monitor has changed my gaming experience completely!

Driver loaded into Windows 7 first time, reboot. Set reslolution and 120Hz. 5 mins to set colours using websearch!

Very impressed!...thanks to all who recommended!....

No. While not the greatest use of a 120 Hz monitor there are improvements to be had. You need to decouple FPS and refresh rate in your mind because improvements in fluidity come from the panel in that 60 FPS on a 120 Hz panel feels smoother than a 60 Hz panel.

Also just got this monitor and jumping from 60fps to 144 massive difference (presume you have version that can go to 144?). Out of box colours rubbish - out of interest what set-up did you go for?. I followed settings from PCMs reviews on the 2411 thread.

Pulling up an old thread here but I've herd that the 144hz mode for this monitor isn't great?

Can any of ocuk confirm this?

I am debating the Benq XL2420TX

was going to replace one of my Dell SP2309W for it.

and run both at 1920x1080 resolution

but I have just tested the dell monitor with 1920x1080 and it looks blurred

I can see in the NVidia control panel I can choose the resolution per SLI I have which is fine but am I likely to see an issue between resolutions

native resolution of the dell is 2048x1152, I would have thought it would look half decent at full HD resolution even if not native?
