Dogs being stolen

Dog people are really weird. I mean the ones caught up in pure breeds are all that. Not uncommon at all for them to steal or kill other people's dogs out of jealousy or competition.

Ive never in my life heard anything like that...so id go so far as to say that it is quite uncommon :o

I dunno about the stealing and killing other dogs, but the rest of it usually applies to 'elite' breeders in general, be it dogs/cats/horses etc.

I mean, look at kamwah :p

Is this sort of things bad in your area?

For the past few months now, we've been seeing regular posters, adverts and facebook(Yeah I know) stuff. All with regards to people having dogs stolen from their gardens.

I think I can recall atleast a dozen instances now.

Is it bad where you're living? I'm from Barnsley(Again, yeah I know) But it seems to be happening a lot in South Yorkshire.

People have said its for dog fighting, essentially these dogs are tied up, and used as bait for training other dogs. Which if thats the case, that's horrendous! :(

Its a con business I suppose just like in the movie Seven Psychopaths. They steal the dog, until the owners starts handling flyers and if they offer a reward. The dog nicker will turn up and return the dog and take the reward money.

Yup its on the rise where i live too (not far from the OP), people using fake RSPCA uniforms and fake dog charity type places, walking round and seeing what dogs are at houses etc, wanting to see where the dog runs around in the garden and all that - Also in the south yorkshire area, these theifs use a sticker system - they are little round stickers, with different colours for small/medium/large and obviously how many dogs, they stick them to the fence, inside the gates, and on the odd occasion on flower petals or even leaves on hedges or trees. From what i can gather its mainly for dog baiting for training fighting dogs, sick and so wrong.

We have two soon to be large German Shepards so it's not really a big issue for us.

Definitely more trouble to steal than they are worth.

im tired of seeing stolen dogs on my facebook feed, u can hardly pick them out as each breed looks same, wheres ace ventura?

yeah same, I have seen it posted up and down the country, either the UK is in the grip of a mass dog stealing epidemic or it's just the usual FB sheep reposting....

There is a lot of it around at the moment, mainly ****** and other scum using them for breeding and to train dogs for fights.

The price of my local "meat" curry and Chow mein has stayed constant for years now.. I have no idea how they do it..

Yep was happening in the midlands a lot about 10 years ago but instead of breeding or training them they ransomed them. It happened to a chap I used to know that had a pedigree yorkie that him and his missus loved to bits. His wife took the dog for a walk and someone pulled up in a van, pushed her out the way, grabbed the dog and drove off. A day later they had a note pushed through the door from someone that "apparently" knew the person that had took it and could get the dog back for £1000. He paid and got the dog back a little while later.

SCUM... :mad::mad::mad:
