Bioshock 3 - Infinite

Yahtzee is so honest and highlights all flaws, that it's hard to tell when he likes a game and when he doesn't. Think he liked this one though :D

Cheers for the reminder, I haven't checked out Zero Punctuation in a while, it's usually hilarious, must check it out this weekend. Yahtzee is class.

3.....the moving buildings cause a bit of motion sickness on a big screen, plus the Vertico is very bad, but i should have realised this!! i get around this by not looking down, because to do so means i'm close to throwing up  yea' it's that bad !!!!!!!

There are large parts of the game where vertigo shouldn't be a problem tho theres many parts connecting them where it will be :S

i've seen the long sky wire thing on Youtube so i know what's waiting for me .... there aint no way i'm firing my gun on that long sky wire, i'll ignore the AI till i drop off, because i have to run off and let my heart rate slow down anyway, before i can carry on gaming...

FAR CRY 3 was very bad for this too, those damned Radio towers..... i have to stop gaming and wait for about 5 seconds.

as said, there is something deffo odd about Bioshock, it's so obviously ``total recall``, this is probably due to things i've seen in my past.

and because it's in the sky, the brightness looks oversaturated, i might adjust my tv to suit

Have you adjusted the brightness within the options menu? Its one of those where you move a slider until a particular image is barely visible, I had to turn the slider down a fair bit so may be worth taking a look at that if you haven't already.

Glad you're enjoying it now you've finally got to play.

i might readjust the settings via my Panny, the game is too garish, but this is only a minor complaint

in the fair/ market there was a giant human mechanical thing, i noticed he didn't like the camera Flash, i bet he appears later too !!!!

that area of the game is brilliant just before all hell breaks loose !!!

there is an arguement that sais that the game is too beautiful, it's too much of a distraction when the attacks start, because i always get attacked whilst looking at the posters, or what makes the buildings float, i've never had this distraction before.

finally, there's loads of stuff to loot and explore, i spend all my time eating apples, drinking Scotch, finding bake beans, you can even use the toilets and wash your hands, it takes flipping ages to move on, i've never experienced anything like this before.... the closest is when i played Fallout 3

generally speaking i hate RPGs, i avoid them .....but maybe i should try a few more, because i deffo liked DEUX EX as well.

Just finished the game. Very enjoyable and very different to all the other garbage that is out there at the moment

The story was ok, but i have never been a fan of time travel/alternate dimension stories, as ultimately, they all end in paradox and don't technically work.

Tbh I think with the name 'Infinite' they probably recognise that it is essentially a paradox that will never end.

Beautiful game, but I've just been hit with the worst Motion Sickness for some time. Had to stop playing, this was at MAX fov. No idea what's causing it, I was fine with Dishonoured e.t.c

Don't feel too well at all now, but then my health hasn't been that great for some time

If your playing with mouse + keyboard the default mouse settings are very "swingy" for want of a better way to put it that (from what I've read on other forums) induces motion sickness quite badly if your prone to it.

I think the garishness is what a lot of people like about it and personally I think one of the things that always attracted me to this game where I was totally unimpressed with the original Bioshock.

It's just a breath of fresh air, for me, Infinite and Spec Ops The Line have both been two of the most visually outstanding games I have played in the past few years. In both cases not because of uber extreme detail or epic DX11 effects but because they make your screen dance with colours it never normally sees.

Its possible to tweak the ini file for better mouse settings tho whether it will help at al with motion sickness is another matter.

I finished this game and wanted to play it again. I didn't like Bioshock and thought it was a bit dull. It could have done without the average shooter mechanics getting in the way of the story.

My Vertico is fine, the skyrail is no problem at all, great fun. i'm quite a long way on, i must be close to the end....

the combat is fine but quite hard without the Vigor, so i'm using it all the time now :D

the fighting is intense, you get over run very easily if you're not careful, they're hard to spot and outflank you often, i'm not happy with my combat play.

the trouble is i'm stopping to loot all the time, not realising that the enemy are still around, this searching for loot is now habit forming, it definitely spoils the game/ atmosphere; it's too distracting.

but i cant blame the game for this, it's deffo me, the game tells me where to go next but i always forget, because i always retreat to loot the area where i've just run through, so i'm not ready to move on until 10mins later.

Conclusion :- great game so far 96%, but spoilt by the desire to loot and hoard all the time, which is a habit i cant seem to shake off...

Only really noticing how much your character talks throughout the game on my second play through. Loads of dialogue which I really prefer to the usual mute hero and the interaction, in particular with Elizabeth is excellent. As well as great characters I'm really impressed with the relationships between them, not often you get such interesting and convincing relationships in a game.

I've been suffering vertigo, nausea all day thanks to this game!

Really screwed my balance up, damn my inner ear inbalance!

Finally got round to finishing this...kept failing at the last level...miserably :p

After 5 goes ive done it tonight...then got very very very confused, then sighed and will leave it a week or two to go back through on a harder difficulty :)

Very good game indeed

Just finished it and I'm blown away, the combat was solid but the story telling and atmosphere were amazing. Drew me in like nothing else I've ever played, this game is a masterpiece. Kept me guessing and trying to figure it out the whole way through and the ending still blew my mind, loved the **** out of it!

Completed this today. Don't often complete games these days. I never clicked with bioshock 1 or 2 either.

Enjoyed it overall but wasn't amazing.

The art style is really quite brilliant, however the guns I thought were pretty average. Carbine was the best gun in game I found. Shotgun was crap.

I literally just ran around hammering the loot button and picked up everything, never triedccombinations of clothing, just equipped what sounded ok as I found them. Vigors weren't too exciting either and I didn't even bother to upgrade them. Finished game with around 3600 coins left. Probably should have
