suzuki swift sport

Several twin tests knocking around pitting the Renautlsport Twingo and the new SSS and the SSS tends to always come out top (including on 5th gear on the TV a while back). Not knocking the Twingo, though it is a fair bit smaller. I'd count the Twingo as a city car and the SSS as a small super-mini. And the Twingo does look a fair bit better in the flesh than the less then flattering picture posted above. But as always, what suits one person, doesn't suit another. Bit like life in general.

The new SSS also has a 6-speed box (previous gen. only had a 5-speed).

PS. My car cost (after discount) £12,840 + a few little extras thrown in.

EDIT.

Have you taken a test drive in a Renaultsport Twingo in Liquid Yellow they look very nice?

They are excellent cars along with the SSS, the big positive over the SSS is the 6 Speed box. Definatly worthy checking out though , I test drove the previous version before buying the non facelift RS Twingo as i felt the handling was superior but thats my opinion .

I've been beaten to this but the new SSS has 6 speed so the big positive is kinda gone ;)

To be honest, the car looks pretty good in any of the five colours. Red was my first choice. But decided on silver in the end. Just have a VERY good inspection of the paint finish, especially if choosing a solid colour (EG. blue/red). One of the few complaints on the owners forum/s is slight "orange peel", especially noticeable on the red. Not all cars appear effected. But the one I originally looked at was red and that was most noticeable under the bright showroom lights.

It affects all the new swifts and all colors and it cant be wet sanded out either because the paint is extremely thin.

I got mine brand new in 2008, Hardly done that many miles in it really, just onto 23,000 now! Looking to sell mine quite soon though. Nice little cars though, haven't been in the new shape but as has been stated it seems to get good reviews. Only problem with mine (again, not sure if it applies to the new model) is the tyre size being quite odd, Eagle F1 195/45R17. I guess if you're buying new the garage should sort servicing etc but it's something to bear in mind.

I suspect Suzuki may well have chosen that tyre size for a reason (or maybe not... I'm no expert). I'd be interested to find out if a move from 195 => 205 would make any noticeable difference in ride quality. If not, then I wonder why they would not have used what is a more popular tyre size!? Mind you, both the Eagle F1's and the Continentals (both available in this size) are decent enough tyres.

PS. Yes the new SSS is fitted with 195's.

just buy this car. cheap, very cheerful. reliable.

One of my favourites in that particular class, beats anything from the ford, vauxhall, honda, toyota, nissan etc.
