I have my driving test today!

We're trying to help you here kid, not put you down.

I understand that :)

As for ruin it with mods, thats a simple no.

A remap can be changed back easily, albeit at cost, so warranty is not a problem. VW have approved lowering springs for the Polo by Ebach which do not affect warranty and again can be changed back. I would not want to do anything else to the car as I love the way they look already.

Im not one of these ebay body kit teenagers who spray paints it to kinda match the car. Aproved parts or nothing. Remap by VWRacing too.

Not true at all. Even one that has been returned to "stock" will not have the correct CRC check, and VAS will know it's been tampered with.

At least this thread is not a "spec me a first car, cheap to run and low MPGz", which turns to "OMG I got an e36 M3 for £4k!!1!" :D

Well as I will not be getting a car until the end of May we can just leave this for now as circumstances can and probably will change.

Thanks for the support for the driving test and the tips too! :)

Like I said about circumstances changing... I moved back to Basingstoke and left my girlfriend/life, insurance was cheap so I ended up driving quite a fair amount of cars since passing almost a year and a half ago... not a single crash, dent, bump, anything. I am enjoying the cheap insurance post code :D

Well, I bought this like 8 months ago for £300...

Then a load of purchases happened...

Since buying stock at 73,000 miles I have done the following;
- Replaced the clutch myself
- Replaced the brakes myself
- Track rod ends replaced
- Basic sound system
- Installed coilovers with basic hand tools
- Facelift rear lights, then flyeyed
- Genuine BBS RZs
- Rolled rear arches as they didnt agree with the BBS
- Evo 5 steering wheel
- Mushroom Filter
- Restoring carpet

My mum had the 1.8 GTi version of that car, was genuinely really good. Unfortunately, she ruined it by crashing it into various objects and then replaced it with an awful (and vastly more expensive) Micra.

Passed my driving test today, first time, 6 minors also. :)

Not buying a car though as I don't need it.
