I havent kept up with the news all day and most of last night so can someone give me a summary of what I missed please? It seems like something reasonably big is happening right now and i'm slightly confused
two brothers, from Chechnya but have been in the USA for up to or more 5 years.
One was shot dead this morning other is on the run, newspapers going insane hyping up any bits of information.
also both are active Muslims, so expect this to be a anti-Muslim fest.

Last week Boston held a marathon, today they're hosting the World Hide & Seek Championship
the other agencies thing is probably a factor... so many different budgets... we've just got police forces basically covering each county and a few forces dedicated to specific areas.
they've got city police, county police, state police/highway patrol, various federal agencies....
Not sure I understand. They thought they had the suspect but he turned out to be a different guy. They said they could see something in his hand and jacket and assumed it was a DM. Bearing in mind that they are expecting the suspect to be wearing a vest, if he had something in his hand it would make sense at the time.
Just to expand on the other answer:
- Two guys hold up a shop near MIT.
- MIT campus police respond, an officer is shot dead.
- Massive manhunt sparked. Culprits carjack someone, later release them.
- Car is chased into Watertown (?), gunfight ensues. One of the culprits wounded, later dies in hospital.
- Other culprit holes up somewhere in the town, police lock everything down. Turns out the two culprits are the marathon bombers.
- Police start house to house searches for the last culprit.
- Some sort of incident with a third, older man wearing an explosive device and a dead man's switch. Not sure how he is related to the others.
Think that's about right?
