GTX Titan II on the cards?

I mean the GTX600 series was launched around March last year if I remember correctly...the Titan was launched like almost exactly a year later, which should really had been the next gen card (GTX700 series) that replaces the GTX600 series range at similar prices brackets, not charging DOUBLE the amount for them...

so have a go at Nvidia for launching something 1 year on, albeit an expensive product, but it's totally ok for AMD to take 2 years to release their next product :D :D
they even took a year and a half just to release their official dual GPU card

you guys crack me right up sometimes

Nope, the two years product life of 7000 series is BS as well, and I have said this in no lesser than one occasion :p

As I said...AMD REALLY need to bring something that can compete with Nvidia on the same level in order to bring the pricing of graphic card as whole back down to sanity level...

It's still relevant though. It goes without saying in AMD's case, no? Most people around here are almost anxiously waiting for what AMD brings out next, and I'd say most think that if the "official" 7990 isn't anything more than 2x 7970s on one PCB, it'll be a waste of time.

As i said a few weeks ago on here in a thread "I bet Nvidia will release a TRUE GK110 card with the currently disabled SMX cluster unlocked which will give the full amount of 2880 Shader cores" what i didnt expect was it to be released so soon if the rumours are TRUE.
I feel sorry for those that bought the original Titan.

Information is from a good source, we may see the new ultra sooner than what we think.

Don't feel sorry for Titan owners. Feel sorry for non titan owners who can't afford one or can not justify spending that much money on one. Current Titan owners do not deserve sympathy. :p

I knew i would take a hit on it and i'm not bothered in the slightest.

Not a chance in hell that i would buy this new card though, whatever the specs.

a faster card being released is always a risk when you buy cutting edge

if anything it would be the LE cards offering substantially the same performance at a lower price that might upset, rather than a newer probably more expensive by the time it gets to the UK card, if anyone is going to get upset about pricing, which considering the price point, probably not

as you say, no sympathy warranted or requested :D

I think that's the key part isn't it? Some people (not aimed at you Matt) think that Titan owners really care if something faster is released or the fact they bought a Titan makes them immune the the fact GPUs gets faster.

No Titan owner I have conversed will is suddenly going to start moaning if something comes out faster because that's the way of life. And if they did want to they certainly aren't going to on this forum. :D

Nature of tech...

I don't plan to buy anything until my Titan starts to struggle. My 580 in the end became memory bound so the Titan should have some good legs with 6GB on board. Hoping for at least 3 years.

If the 8970 arrives with titan equaling performance, but prices remain as they are now (not unreasonable looking at 680 prices), then surely AMD will charge at least £750. And then we'll have Titan II arrive at £1k+... Perhaps I'm being overly cynical, but I only see this as pushing prices up across the board.

PS4 at ~£450 with mouse / keyboard support now starts to look really attractive, even for die-hard PC gamers.

They are releasing the Titan ultra and very soon as Amd have already sent the Hd 7990 to retailers and performance numbers show that it beats the GTX Titan and GTX690.

Maybe the new Titan will have a TRUE fully unlocked bios which can be modded properly and voltage increased higher than a 106% TDP.
Fully unlocked Cluster....the TRUE GK110!!

My next-door neighbour's dog's friend's uncle says differently. It's going to be Titan "Mega" and will be battling it out with AMD's 7995.25 Mega-Boost edition.
